The time to feast

Seafood overdose got me sick hah. I should stop being so greedy.... But who could have resisted this?? All thanks to chef Malcom! I'll just console myself that I'm enjoying der's share on his behalf hahah    *** Even though I've not fully recovered, we feasted for our pre-christmas celebration as well. It is always nice hanging out and seeing the circle grow... (The latest addition was sleeping in the room :))

Decided

We have decided on W Hotel. Finally! Choosing a wedding venue is so tough! All because of budget constraint hahaha. I'm glad we have moved on. I am getting bored trying to negotiate and get compare. I need to start thinking what is next... *** More updates on my Sydney trip. I managed to visit all my friends that I wanted to and I am glad to see that everyone is doing so well and living so happily! Good news 1 is from Sisca who has happily given birth. Baby Jack is so cute and the most well behaved baby. Just 2 weeks old. I never even hear him cry once when I was there.   Flowers for the mummy. Sydney sells flowers everywhere and they are not expensive. AUD15 for this bouquet. Not bad huh?  Sisca and I  After visiting Sisca, I met Der after his work and we took a nature trail where we stroll along parks and spotted various kinds of birds. We took a train from Mascot Station and started at the St Mary's Cathedral near Hyde Park.   The sky was bea
Makes me a little sad that he is leaving for Sydney again. The weekend was just too short...Not sure when is the next time I go or he comes back. On hindsight, Sydney is a nice place too. I miss the place too.

We did it!!

Looking all fresh and a little jittery before the start of the race.   We even spotted power rangers  And we did it! But my knee hurts like crazy now...
Scooting off on Sat night...
Congrats to Alvin for tying the knot and also for giving us a chance to take these lovely pics. I really love them :) As we grow older, we tend to hang out less due to different commitments and focus in life. Nonetheless, I hope we all stay as happy as we were in this pic forever....
My buys for the day. Can't wait to try them all! Especially the much raved about YSL highlighter :)

Symmetry

I thought I'll be the first to blog about this place but I thought wrong hah. I happened to chance upon Symmetry on my way back from my weekend morning run, situated right at Jalan Kubor .  This is in between Bugis and Lavendar. It was still closed when I past by in the morning but the dolls outside caught my attention. Since we were looking for somewhere to eat, I suggested to Der to drop by in the afternoon. Despite the not so usual kind of location, I was surprised the place was actually bustling. There were even groups coming in with reservations as well. This place serves brunch, lunch and dinner.   I love the bar area. The decor of the place is really chic and cosy.  I ordered a smoothie which was to my liking but I thought was too pricey- $10 Comes with a beautifully crafted strawberry to resemble a rose. We shared a big breakfast - $24. Pricey once again but the portion to me was huge. From my seat, I could also see the chef putting in a lot of effort on t
My new friend. Coz he is afraid I'll be lonely when he is not around haha.

Melba Cafe

I love visiting new cafes especially cafes tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. It makes me feel relaxed and for a moment forget that I'm in boring Singapore hah. Melba cafe at Goodman road is one such place.  We practically sat there for a whole afternoon just flipping through magazines. People with dogs can choose the Al Frasco dining and let their dogs run around the empty grass patch. We chose the indoor sofa seat.   We were like sitting in a glass house. The food was great too! The truffle fries were so fragrant. I couldn't stop eating it.   Eggs Florentine was perfect~ but the presentation made it seemed like the portion was soooo small. I guess it will be enough if you were to eat both. I love the Hollandaise sauce on the eggs. The "three little pigs" hah. Bacon, ham and pepperoni. Super sinful but the thin crust and generous serving of ingredients~~ woohooo I'll like to visit the place again :)

Happy 28th!

We had a nice dinner last night for Der's pre birthday celebration. I feel bad for not preparing anything. I even had to ask him for suggestion on places to have dinner. Must admit I'm really very bo sim this year :( But dinner turned out to be very good! Our combined effort in choosing a place hah. We decided on an Italian restaurant @ Portsdown road called Pietrasanta.    While waiting for our dinner to be served. Our started was Parma ham wrapped with cheese.  Freshly baked warm focaccia bread. Perfect ~ Definitely worth ordering. We couldn't stop eating it.  For our mains, we ordered a spicy salami pizza and a Korobuta pork rack to share. The pizza was GOOOD. I love how the crust wasn't too thick and also a little crispy as well. The salami goes so well, we finished the entire pizza, leaving no crust behind. The pork on the other hand was disappointing for der. It was just grilled over the fire with no sauces or what so ever on it. I gues
