Jetsaver Light Challenge 2010 - Taipei

Was encouraged to join the Jetstar challenge once again and we are really excited about it! We truly enjoyed the previous experience and we are looking forward once again to be given a chance to compete, meet more new friends who enjoy traveling and of course to have a wonderful holiday... Here is our video that we have submitted for the Jetsaver Light Challenge. A lot of effort was put into this as it is definitely not an easy task to create it! Nonetheless, we are proud of the final outcome of this mini project heh. Enjoy.... and cross our fingers that we can go to Taipei :) xoxo JetSaver Light Challenge Taipei 2010 from Derrick Leow on Vimeo .

Never Judge A Book By Its Cover

This VS The above homemade ice cream by Der is soooo much nicer than the other 2 cake/tart. He's definitely improving on his ice cream making skills as the days go by. :) We stumbled upon this shop at the basement of 313 shopping centre and was attracted to all the pastries displayed. Everyone of them looked so intricately put together. Nonetheless, we were gravely disappointed! The macrons were the only saving grace of all but if bought individually, it'll cost $2.30 each if I'm not wrong, which is definitely not worth it. I think the best macrons are the ones found at Tangs basement (never noticed the shop name). For the first pastry we tried, the tart at the base was hard, dry and tasteless. As for the other white cake, we simply couldn't make out the taste. It was just sticky and oh so sweet. I'm not sure if the cakes were placed there for too long, thus the taste. It just left us...disappointed. *** Not forgetting... CONGRATULATIONS IFAH ! My first time attendi

Bimba & Lola Official Opening

Attended Bimba & Lola's official opening at Orchard Ion this evening and I had my fair share of ogling at all the tai tai's and media people's branded bags. Makes me want to buy buy buy too! Can't wait to get my hands on those bags in Europe :) The fashion show showed case the 2010 summer collection. The clothes looked very comfy and I really liked their sandals collections. They all looked so chic and comfy. The door gift: A cool note book and a $50 vouchers. Not intending to get anything but I feel that it's a pity not to use the voucher.... There's a 4 days validity period to the voucher so I still have some time to think about it heh.

Candlenut Kitchen

Craving for some authentic Nonya cuisine? Look no further than Candlenut Kitchen located at 25 Neil Road . Each dish is made out of passion and sincerity, leaving you craving for more :) Congratulations Malcom on the opening of your new restaurant: Brought my dear friends to try out the food at Malcom's newly opened restaurant and we must say that each dish tasted fantastic! Nonetheless, the portion were a little too small for 5 hungry girls haha. So some of you out there might find the place a little pricey. Each dish range between $10-$15 on average. But fret not, feedback has been given and I'm sure the place will only get better in due time. Kueh Pai Tee Chap Chay, Ayam Buah Keluak, Fried Chicken I heard that the desserts were the best of everything only after I left the place! I'll definitely be going back again to try some. After dinner, we decided to hang out at Hotel 1929 to chill and have some desserts. Once again, it was another place with "fine dining"
