Bangkok 2011

Woohoo~ I finally managed to squeeze in a trip to Bangkok before the end of 2011. BKK feels like a second home to me hah, just like another Orchard road. There were no signs of flood and everything seems to be back to normal with shoppers everywhere and Christmas decorations donning all the shopping malls. I must say for a country that does not celebrate Christmas, the decorations are brilliant! They have much more interactive decorations than compared to Singapore. Outside Central World Outside Platinum Mall Thanks to Am, we were introduced to a new place called K Village. It resembles our Robertson quay. It is a great place to chill. It was nice meeting you Am! Thanks for Dinner. Anyway, the cupcakes here are nice :) The shop is at Siam Paragon. Merry Christmas! Us with our red velvet cupcake :)

Heritage along footpaths...

What can you do with these coins? Nothing much you would say? You are wrong! I was taken by surprise on my way to Bras Brasah mrt when I saw a small crowd of ppl gathering around SAM. Upon closer look, I spotted this sign. What?!? Yup you saw it right :) This was an initiative rolled out by the Singapore Heritage Board and the project is called Heritage Along Footpaths . This project brought me back to my parents era and I definitely see myself being put into the settings of the current Channel 8 show, A Song to Remember. Being the very excited self, I had to try the ice balls which was much talked about by my dad. It was fun while it lasted as I decided it was too messy hahah Der and I had syrup all over our clothes and shoes. I think it is easier to eat a bowl of ice kachang oops. But I admit it was fun! Besides having the ice ball, I decided to mend my shoes since it is soooo cheap as compared to the price I usually pay. The uncle at SAM had too many shoes to handle. Thus he pointed

Hidden Find No. 2

Yet another hidden find that I am adding to my list and I'm pretty sure not many people have got to know of this place yet. They have only been opened for 2.5 months. I believe it will soon be one of the cool hang outs that will attract many people. Once again, thanks to Der for bringing me there! Introducing wimbly lu @ Jalan Riang. This cafe is tucked inside an estate which is pretty near Serangoon central. Look carefully at the logo of the cafe. There's the Volkswagen in there too! Welcoming us when we stepped in was the desserts and chocolate selections I love the interior. They made use of different kinds of chairs/seats/sofa for different tables. Even though the place is rather small, each corner has a different feel to it. Also, the ceiling is transparent. So we can actually see the sky when we lift our heads. As we went for brekkie after a run, we decided to go for the wooden chairs instead of wetting the sofas hah Our breakkie - Grand Slam, which consist of 2 of each

Things we do on a lazy Saturday afternoon

Even though I run along the Esplanade area very often, I realized there are still stuff I will miss along the route. Sometimes, when we slow our pace and look around us, there are a couple of interesting sights in Singapore. Der doing a poster shot jump heh

Happy Halloween 2011

My first ever Halloween event and the first time Universal Studio held the Halloween fright night :) I was quite afraid in the beginning as the pics I saw in the pass regarding the night safari Halloween night looked scary! Nonetheless, our ms brave, Fiona chen made every sounded like a joke hahha The tickets cost $51 with Maybank credit card but thanks to Der, he exchanged 2 free tix with his Maybank credit card pts. However mr chicken was too afraid to go for the event hah It was mainly just the "ghost" walking around universal studios trying to stick their face into yours most of the time which kindda made my hair stand. I think this was one of the scariest "ghost" around that day that kept chasing me! I can't bear to look at this pic properly. Her eyes gives me the creeps. We had the company of muscle man too. I think we looked rather uncomfortable in the pic though. Besides the walking "ghost", they had a haunted house too. The fact that it was d

Kuching

Welcome to Kuching!! The Kuching's famous cat statues... Decided to pay Kuching a visit since there was a promotion on Expedia Singapore and I've never been there before even though it is so near to Singapore. 3 Nights stay at Pullman Kuching (a new 5 star Hotel) + flight only cost us $173. If you were to ask me what to do at Kuching? I will say food since Malaysia is all about food and out door activities that are close to nature. Food wise, the 3 must try: 1. Laksa - Less creamy version of Singapore's Laksa 2. Kolo Mee. Nette thought it was too dry for her liking. 3. Midin (Jungle fern). My fav! I don't think we have this in Singapore. We had ours fried with red wine. The veg is very smooth. We were also glad we managed to find time to chill out at 2 very cool restaurants which happened to be near our hotel. Don't be deceived by the exterior.. The interior was amazing... I love how we had to walk through the connecting steps on water hah My pandan green tea was de
