Disneyland

Charlotte finally made it to Disneyland. After all the procrastinating, we finally bought an annual pass and brought Charlotte there. Even though she has no clue what Disneyland was all about, she was all pumped up and excited that she was able to wear her Snow White costume. Instead of going there early in the morning, we went in the afternoon, after brunch. The timing couldn't have been better. Charlotte had something to eat and took a nap while we drove there. Saved my ears from her screaming that she is not feeling well. She still does that quite a bit whenever she needs to get into her car seat. Charlotte's first ride in Disneyland. Dumbo the flying elephant. Surprisingly, she was quite good when it came to queuing for rides. Even though we went on a weekday, the queue for the rides were at least 30mins. But she seemed to understand that we need to queue if we want to get on any rides. She didn't really fussed while queuing. But my arms were aching the next day fro

Teaching My Own Kid

I find it almost impossible to teach my own kid. Whenever I try, it never turns out well. Here I am sitting in front of my laptop typing away my grouses while my kid sits facing the balcony, staring into space. Reason being.. she refused to do things when it comes to using her brains and it get me all agitated and worked up. We were happily playing with a new set of playdoh that we got yesterday when I decided to move on to teach or rather go through some numbers with her. Then and there, she decided that she doesn't want to play anymore. She can already easily count 1-10 and sometimes even 11-20 with some help. However she can be very lazy. For instance today. She said she doesn't even know the no. 1. This got me really worked up. How can she not know the no. 1?? She just refused to tell me the no. no matter what I do. So I have decided to ignore her and just do my own stuff. It has been almost an hour and being the stubborn girl, she just sat and faced the balcony, still

My Unfortunate Event

I lost my phone and wallet. It was entirely my fault. I had no idea what got into me. I just left my entire bag in the toilet. How can someone forget such a big item? my entire bag! I always thought I am quite careful when it comes to my valuables but I guess I am not at all. I didn't even realized that I was not carrying my bag until derrick asked if I had my phone with me. It was only about 5 mins. Derrick ran back to the toilet and managed to find my bag. My phone and purse was gone though. I always had the fear of leaving my bag behind in a changing room. But never have I ever imagined that I would leave it in a toilet! I think the chances of getting back my belongings would be higher if I  had left it in the changing room as the the salesperson will probably be checking it before she lets the next person in. In any case, I do not want to experience that. That being said, what's gone is gone. Derrick had tried his best to get it back. We went to the security, requested

Noah's Ark Exhibition

We finally got around visiting the Noah's Ark Exhibition at Skirball Museum. It is definitely a place worth visiting. I wasn't sure at first as it only opens at 12noon on weekdays which is the time Charlotte is about to take her nap. However, it all worked out well in the end. We went for the 2.30pm slot, right after her nap. In the morning, we brought her to a different sort of indoor playground. A place called A Magic Forest. It was our first time there. Almost everything was made of wood. Not a single toy was battery operated. I know wooden toys are more of an educational toys and are said to be better. But in my case, it was not possible to just have these toys at home. So i guess it was a good experience for Charlotte. For once, she can simply use her imagination and be free to do whatever she wants with wooden blocks and just plain simple toys without any other attention grabbing toys that plays music with a push of a button. Our First Pumpkin Patch!

I was pretty excited about visiting a pumpkin patch especially after seeing all the media influencers on instagram bringing their kids to one. So over the weekend, we visited our first pumpkin patch at Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch. I chose somewhere that was nearest to our place as Charlotte still does not do well in cars. We had no idea what to expect but I got Charlotte all excited when I told her that she will get to go on a pony ride and get her face painted. Upon arriving, I already liked what I see! Pumpkins everywhere! How cool was that? Oh and I get to pick any pumpkin that was lying around :) I just got very pumped up at the idea. It might be something families in LA see every year but this was my first time.  Charlotte too loved the idea of hay everywhere! We also managed to get ourselves a wagon to transport the kiddo around. Actually, it wasn't easy pulling it around. Face painting was first on our list. Even though there was a queue, Charlotte waited pa

Here in Los Angeles, LA

After a long 20 hours flight, with 1 transit in Narita airport, we finally arrived in LA. The flight was seriously too long especially when travelling with a toddler in the economy class. My butt started to ache during the second half of the flight. Charlotte was lying on my lap and my movement was restricted. I also totally underestimated the memory of a 2 year old toddler. The moment Charlotte got on to the plane, she requested for me to make her seat into a bed. So she actually remembered her experience in business class from the previous trip. I was surprised but had to tell her apologetically that this seat was not able to do so. She whined a little then asked for a cup of orange juice (sound like a total spoiled brat). In any case, we survived the flight. But now, the jet lag is the next torturing part. Charlotte is experiencing a horrible jet lag. She woke up at 2am and only went to bed at 8.30am. So she's still sleeping now at 3pm in the afternoon. I foresee another sle

Back in Sin For a While...

before flying off again for another adventure! It has only been 3 days back in Sin and daddy has already flown to LA this morning. We managed to reached the airport just in time to say good bye. The flight back from Moscow was good once again. We got very lucky this time as we got to sit in business class! Charlotte is not entitled till she is 6 but the crew was so nice to bump us up. Charlotte was extremely pleased. In her own words "Charlotte's chair so big!" I could really tell the difference in her behaviour between the classes. I was surprised that she sat on the seat all by herself for both landing and take off. She did not even asked for milk. She always ask for milk soo many times when we are on a flight. For this flight, she only drank once! For most of the time, she sat happily in her seat watching cartoons, having her meal, rolling around on the bed. Even pretended to sleep as she was so impressed with the big bed when we rolled it out for her. Even wh

Happy Birthday to Me

Spent my 33rd birthday in Moscow. Nothing special, just an ordinary day as usual, hanging out with Charlotte. But we did have a slice of cake at the end of the day so that Charlotte can have fun blowing out the candle. Doesn't it look more like her birthday than mine? She tried doing a twist sign like daddy in the pic too haha. Charlotte managed to blow out the candle by herself this time. I think she is ready for her own candle blowing ceremony on her birthday! Today is our last day in Moscow. Plans change. We will be heading back to Singapore tomorrow.

Play and More Play

What would a day be like if there is no play involved in Charlotte's day? Charlotte's day is filled with play and more play everyday. Wake up, eat, play, sleep... eat, play, sleep again. The cycle just repeats. Life of a kid is shiok. Oh not forgetting, torture her parents throughout the time she is awake. So on our 3rd last weekend in Moscow, it was more fun for the little monster. We headed out to the exhibition hall area located at VDNKh where Charlotte spent an entire day scooting around. The large open spaces here makes scooting around very enjoyable. ECP in Singapore cannot beat the spaces here. Charlotte is getting better at scooting. But most of the time, I would have to be pulling her along or manoeuvring her to prevent her from bumping into things or people. Along the way, we stopped by a little garden with mini super trees that resembles those at Gardens by the Bay. Charlotte spotted the little stones on the ground. She loves picking up little stones and
