Merry Christmas from Moscow!

And the little one is terrified of Santa -_-! She was so terrified that she was crying and trying to wriggle away even though I was carrying her hah. We spent Christmas this year in Moscow with a couple of Singaporean friends. As of today, I think Sienna is Charlotte's best friend. The only friend she is most familiar with haha. All thanks to Alene, we had a fantastic Christmas meal on Christmas eve! The turkey was delicious! So grateful to have  a friend like her in Moscow. The best part of it, our kiddo are almost the same age. This makes hanging out together so much more convenient. I am pretty sure Charlotte enjoyed herself this festive period. From playing toys at Sienna's place to roaming the city. The city of Moscow has so many entertainment for kids this year. There are carousel at almost every Christmas market and they are all free! She loved it! On Christmas day, she also got to open her present from us :) A teapot set. She seems to be enjoying it

It's Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas...

Moscow is gradually catching up on the Christmas spirit. Traditionally, Christmas in Russia, in the Russian Orthodox Church is celebrated on 7th Jan. This year, we see more Christmas trees, decorations etc everywhere. Even at the frozen ponds that people ice skates on, there are Christmas trees and decorations popping up. These were not seen last year. We were pleasantly surprised at the sight! Charlotte too had her share of fun running on the frozen pond. The moment we let her down, she dashed towards the tree. Charlotte and her winter essential, a shovel. We had fun coming down the snow slope too. Of course it was nothing compared to snow boarding. But  with a toddler around, it was better than nothing.

Snow Play

Despite the gloomy and freezing weather, we've decided to bring Charlotte down for some snow play. During winter, every kid here will be holding a shovel to dig in the snow instead of a tiny sand spade. Thus we followed suit hah. What started off as a white canvas, was slowed being doodled upon by Charlotte and her shovel. Dragging her shovel along is her version of digging. As long as she's having fun...

Christmas Countdown in Berlin

Christmas started early for us this year as we headed to Berlin to soak up the festive mood at the various Christmas markets. The Gendarmentmarket was the best of the various markets we went. There were choir carolling,  performances on stage etc. But food wise, they were generally the same for all the markets. Sausages predominates! Of course these markets were not the most entertaining place for a 1 year old toddler. But Charlotte did enjoyed looking at the lightings everywhere and having junk food! Fries were her favourite! Feeling guilty for feeding her junk, we tried our best to visit some proper eating places so that Charlotte can at least have a proper meal. Pasta was the best bet whenever we travel. We visited a kindercafe when in Berlin. Not only did the place entertained her, she enjoyed her food as well. Berlin is considered a kid's friendly destination. We did managed to find something to entertain Charlotte whenever we were on the move. Like a random

Happy 1st Birthday Charlotte Baby!

Charlotte turns one! Happy Birthday my baby girl! It was not easy planning a birthday party for a little girl especially when we are overseas. There is so much to do and if it wasn't for daddy, there will not be a party at all. I think Derrick really made full use of his 24 hours when we were back in Singapore to make sure that the party can take place. He has to take care of everything by himself. I am so amazed by how he can do so many things in a day. I guessed the party turned out pretty well. There was just the right amount of food and the place wasn't as cramped as I thought it would be too. I was very surprised that about 80 people can squeeze into the tiny but empty HDB of ours. It was a pity that the birthday girl was so overwhelmed by the crowd that day though. She was so overwhelmed that she was as clingy as a koala. I had to carry her everywhere and definitely cannot be out of her sight. Thus, it wasn't easy taking her photos that day especially photos of

Turning One

Baby Charlotte is turning 1 next Monday and we are heading back to Singapore to hold a birthday party for her. We are going to try and squeeze about 80 people in our tiny, empty pigeon hole. I wonder how it will turn out. The buffet lunch and cake have been settled so far. Just have to get the house decorated a little and pack some goodie bags for the children that will be attending Charlotte's party. Charlotte will probably not understand what is going on but she gets excited and claps whenever she hears the words Happy Birthday or hears the Birthday song being played. Guess she learnt everything from BabyTV. Yes she has been watching a lot of TV but before anyone starts to judge me, I feel that it is a good source of entertainment for her in this cold weather and I think she is learning. As the weather turns cold, I feel so lazy to dress her up and bring her out. Nonetheless, she managed to hang out with her friend on the weekend at the park where it was freezing. The double

Happy Birthday Papa!

And soon, it will be Happy Birthday Charlotte! Papa's bday was a trial for Charlotte's upcoming cake blowing ceremony haha. This baby girl's bday is just around the corner. She's turning one on 24th October and we have decided to head back to Singapore to celebrate with our family. We were laughing our heads off when looking through old pictures of Charlotte as a tiny little new born. She always had that grumpy look on her face and she was so tanned haha. Today, this baby has grown to a running and accident prone big baby hah (She just fell and hit her face on the steps yesterday, resulting in a cut on her eye lid and a bruise on her nose bridge. sigh....). Charlotte is super active. She can't stop running around. She gets really excited when she see toys. Going to the playground keeps her occupied in the day and allows her to release all that energy that is bursting inside her. Eating comes next. Charlotte loves to eat everything that adults eat and espe

Updates

Back in Moscow once again. Have been back in Singapore for the past 3 weeks and it was an activity packed trip. I've managed to snug in a trip to Taiwan with my parents as well as attend a wedding. It was Charlotte's godma Steffi's wedding. Charlotte managed to stay with my parents alone for more than 3 hours because bridesmaid duties called for. However she still refused to drink milk from the bottle. She rather go without milk. I think the highlight of this trip back to Singapore was the Taiwan trip. Besides being stuck in the car for long hours, I think Charlotte was very happy on this trip. She never had a dull moment whenever she's up. The moment she wakes up, gong gong and popo sprung into action and whizzed her out of the door. She is mostly happy and smiling most of the time. All she needed was space to run around and no one to say "no" to this and that hah. We even managed to celebrate my dad's birthday on this trip. This trip is not t

Helsinki

Unfortunately for us, the weather was bad on the day we were to take the ferry to Helsinki from Tallinn. We arrived at the port and was told that the 12pm ferry was cancelled. The next ferry departs at 6pm. The suggestion was to catch another ferry that departs in 20 mins time and it will take about 10 mins to walk over to the other port. Even though it was raining, we decided to try our luck and walked as fast as possible to try and catch the ferry. Luck was on our side, as we managed to catch it. It was a slower ferry. Instead of 1.5hrs, this ferry took 2.5hrs. However it was more of a cruise then a ferry. Charlotte seemed happy about it as there was a play corner on board that could keep her entertained. Despite the large ship, the choppy waters made us a little sick. Even Charlotte threw up all of a sudden. But she continued playing like nothing happened after she threw up. We did not do much in Helsinki. Mainly just walking around and as usual, looked for places to keep Charl
