My Cheeky Monkey

Look at this cheeky face.... Derrick brought back 2 pretty flower garlands especially for us. I'm so in love with it. They are so pretty! Anyway, not sure if the terrible 2s are starting to kick in. But Charlotte has been naughtier and cheekier these few days. Her favourite word is NO. Even when she wakes up in the middle of the night, her first word is NO and there is no reason to render the word No. From what I understand, kids learn from their parents. I reflected a little but I don't think I say a lot of Nos to her. I tend to let her do anything she wants just as long as it doesn't hurt us or cause trouble to others. Hopefully she'll outgrow this phase.  On a separate note, we are heading back to Singapore next week. I think Charlotte tends to grow up or learn more when she is back in Singapore. Maybe due to more interaction with people? or maybe there is no language barrier? I'm not sure. Even though it is a good thing, I hope she won't feel los

Doing Well....

Charlotte's 3rd ballet lesson went well! She paid more attention this time and made more effort to follow through the class. But at her age, she is still not able to do most of the movements properly. She cannot even put her legs together to bend up and down. She will just squat down in an unsightly manner, looking like she needs to poop hah. But as long as she tries to follow and does not cry during class, I am satisfied. A parent with a 2 year old kid was surprised that she was able to follow through as she said that her kid does not have the discipline to do so. Hah tell me about it. If the mum was around during Charlotte's 2nd lesson, she would have thought otherwise. Kids are so unpredictable. One day they are good, the next they are just screaming and crying away. Swimming this week went well too. I made a reminder in my head that I should try to push Charlotte's limit a little. Since she has attended quite a couple of swim classes, it is time i let go a little more

Ballet???

Charlotte attended her first ballet class 2 weeks ago. She seemed to love it and was able to follow through some of the steps. It was easier for her to follow when there is music and movement. She hated stretches though. She would just roll around or lie on the floor whenever it was stretching time. However, the 2nd lesson was kind of a disaster. She didn't want to follow the teacher and was constantly saying "home home home" and crying a little from time to time. Not sure if she likes the class now but we will still give it a shot for this month. After that incident, I can totally feel for the parents whose kid would not cooperate during classes. Hopefully she will do better in the next class. *Cross my fingers* and the class aint cheap! Feels like it is a little waste of $ when the kid does not want to listen to instructions. I guess not everything will be smooth sailing all the time. But I must say Charlotte does look cute in the tutu skirt. I couldn't stop laugh

Sun... Sun... Mr Golden Sun...

The weather took a turn this week. From the cold, wet rainy days to glorious sunshine everyday. With temperatures at an average of 20 degrees over the weekend, we hit the park to enjoy some sun. Gorky park was bustling with people, all soaking up as much sun as possible. Something Russians hardly get here. Check out the huge beach chair at the park. All the kids were happily jumping around. It just screams SUMMER! Daddy even got a chance to play basketball, something he has been pinning for ages. We also managed a little picnic under the tree. Charlotte had so much fun running around that day. She just kept going "run, run, run" non stop hahah. It was hilarious. Can't wait for the weekends again! Hopefully the good weather is here to stay :)
