Kuching

Welcome to Kuching!! The Kuching's famous cat statues... Decided to pay Kuching a visit since there was a promotion on Expedia Singapore and I've never been there before even though it is so near to Singapore. 3 Nights stay at Pullman Kuching (a new 5 star Hotel) + flight only cost us $173. If you were to ask me what to do at Kuching? I will say food since Malaysia is all about food and out door activities that are close to nature. Food wise, the 3 must try: 1. Laksa - Less creamy version of Singapore's Laksa 2. Kolo Mee. Nette thought it was too dry for her liking. 3. Midin (Jungle fern). My fav! I don't think we have this in Singapore. We had ours fried with red wine. The veg is very smooth. We were also glad we managed to find time to chill out at 2 very cool restaurants which happened to be near our hotel. Don't be deceived by the exterior.. The interior was amazing... I love how we had to walk through the connecting steps on water hah My pandan green tea was de

Hidden Find

Dinner at Little Part 1 was good.. A cosy little cafe tucked in the private estate of Thomson, it resembles Greenwood ave but definitely much less commercialized. Unlike all the new cafes that are up these days, they have a pretty extensive menu, comprising of mains and crepes. The desserts looked pretty good too. However we were too full to give them a try as the main portions were rather big. Original spicy buffalo wings for starter. I thought it was a tad too sour though. My pomodero chicken crepe. Der's fish n chips

Der's Birthday Dinner

No big celebration this year. Just a simple dinner... First pic taken with the new cam:) Dinner was at Greenwood Fish Market. As the place is supposed to be a "market", it was really busy and bustling with ppl. I think they were too short handed. 2 thumbs up for the fish and chips!! They were really good and definitely worth a try.We also tried the seafood pasta. The scallops were fresh and the serving was quite generous. I love scallops. Basically, I think nothing can go wrong with it.

Duty Free Shopping

I have turned to duty free shopping now especially when there's further staff discount :) It really makes a world of a difference. 2 products that Der got me so far: 1. Jurlique Rose Finishing Powder. I'm using it as a loose powder and it smells heavenly. Furthermore it is really good at oil control. I checked the price at Robinson - $63. I got it only for $37. Almost half the price! 2. Kiehl's Lip Balm in trio. Swear by their lip balm. I'm currently using the pear flavor. Got it at $30 for 3.
