Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year Peeps!! It is the time of the year where we try to look forward to a brand new year ahead and work towards having a better year than before :)

Here are some reflections on the new year as we were chatting about how fast time flies. We are already in the month of Feb in 2011. Looking at some things planned for year, makes me feel that 2011 will fly pass even faster. Coming up next will be a few CNY meals with friends, followed by Jeremy and Amber's wedding in mid Feb. This pretty much sums up Feb and we move on to March. March will be my good friend, Evan's and his wife Jennifer's ROM. In April, I'm planning a trip to Spain. Hopefully things will go as planned. Soon, half of the year will be gone.. GOSH!

Well, back to the present.. I had to work on Chu Yi this year as my new job entails me to work on all Singapore public holidays. Yup you heard me right! I do not enjoy any public holidays. I get compensated with leaves. Anyhow, I took leave on Fri and I still enjoyed my CNY very much :)
Chu Er was lunch as per usual with my family. This year, we had our lunch at Temasek club.

And I'm so happy to meet Jac over there! What a pleasant surprise! :)

We had 4 tables and we were seated in the cock pit heh. There was even a karaoke set inside for us! Everyone from the old to the young had a great time singing!

All my cousins

The little ones

This year, the big head doll that usually comes with lion dancers were replaced by bugs bunny haha.

Lucky no. for u guys! heh

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International
