Swimming

After being in Singapore for quite awhile, life gets a little boring when we are back in Moscow. I miss going out to Bugis to take a walk while the terror takes her naps. Thanks to a friend's recommendation, I brought Charlotte to her first swimming class in Moscow. It was also a good workout for me too as I had to carry her and lift her etc. Charlotte definitely had a lot of fun that day and was totally exhausted by the time the class ended. She fell asleep for a good 2.5 hours on the stroller once we stepped out of the swimming centre. This gave Der and myself a chance to have a quiet lunch and also a stroll to the Red Square. We even managed to take a photo of ducks swimming along a half frozen river. A shot with the little terror after nap haha It was the weekend of the pancake festival. Thus there was a giant ice sculpture of a lady holding a stack of pancakes at the Red Square.

Bali

We decided on an impromptu trip to Bali this Chinese New Year. A really short 3D2N trip. It has been about 2 years since I was in Bali for my hens night. This time, it was totally different. I went with a baby haha. No more partying and drinking like crazy. The weather was terrible during this trip though. It poured like crazy everyday when we were there. Upon arrival, Charlotte was so excited to hit the beach. She couldn't even stay in the house long enough for us to get changed. The sun was blazing hot when we left the villa. But it started pouring the moment we got into the car! Poor Charlotte... she had to give the beach a miss that day. We ended up checking out some popular restaurants and spent the day eating and eating! I could tell Charlotte was pretty bored. So I allowed her to watch some video during dessert time and even let her eat as much ice cream as she wants. We had a very good red velvet pancakes at The Fat Turtle Cafe. Amazingly, we ended the night chill...

Packing...

We are heading back to Moscow tonight. Time flies when you are having fun. Charlotte will definitely miss running around in her singlets and shorts. Not forgetting all the people especially her gong gong and popo that can entertain her the moment she wakes up. Last run in the hood... who cares about jackets, gloves and boots. Out we go in my pj the moment I open my eyes! She will also miss all her water play. I think I did not give her enough :( But it's ok! Till the next time :)

Back Home Once Again...

Hee Hee Hee.... This cheeky monkey has been surrounded with people ever since she returned to Singapore. There is never a dull moment for her. There will be either activities planned or someone to entertain her whenever she is back in Singapore. I think she is getting spoiled by her grandparents back here and she is slowly starting to throw tantrums whenever she is upset. It really frustrates me when I see her throwing tantrums and refusing to cooperate. This trip back was mainly to attend my cousin, Rosebud's wedding. But with this kid around, I only managed to stay inside before the worship begins. I was outside the entire time instead of attending the service when it started. Charlotte did better at the wedding banquet though as there was food to keep her occupied. But as usual, we had to walk around most of the time.  The flowers around were a source of entertainment for her. She enjoyed plucking out all the rose petals. The stairs were also another source of entert...

Merry Christmas from Moscow!

And the little one is terrified of Santa -_-! She was so terrified that she was crying and trying to wriggle away even though I was carrying her hah. We spent Christmas this year in Moscow with a couple of Singaporean friends. As of today, I think Sienna is Charlotte's best friend. The only friend she is most familiar with haha. All thanks to Alene, we had a fantastic Christmas meal on Christmas eve! The turkey was delicious! So grateful to have  a friend like her in Moscow. The best part of it, our kiddo are almost the same age. This makes hanging out together so much more convenient. I am pretty sure Charlotte enjoyed herself this festive period. From playing toys at Sienna's place to roaming the city. The city of Moscow has so many entertainment for kids this year. There are carousel at almost every Christmas market and they are all free! She loved it! On Christmas day, she also got to open her present from us :) A teapot set. She seems to be enjoying it...

It's Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas...

Moscow is gradually catching up on the Christmas spirit. Traditionally, Christmas in Russia, in the Russian Orthodox Church is celebrated on 7th Jan. This year, we see more Christmas trees, decorations etc everywhere. Even at the frozen ponds that people ice skates on, there are Christmas trees and decorations popping up. These were not seen last year. We were pleasantly surprised at the sight! Charlotte too had her share of fun running on the frozen pond. The moment we let her down, she dashed towards the tree. Charlotte and her winter essential, a shovel. We had fun coming down the snow slope too. Of course it was nothing compared to snow boarding. But  with a toddler around, it was better than nothing.

Snow Play

Despite the gloomy and freezing weather, we've decided to bring Charlotte down for some snow play. During winter, every kid here will be holding a shovel to dig in the snow instead of a tiny sand spade. Thus we followed suit hah. What started off as a white canvas, was slowed being doodled upon by Charlotte and her shovel. Dragging her shovel along is her version of digging. As long as she's having fun...

Christmas Countdown in Berlin

Christmas started early for us this year as we headed to Berlin to soak up the festive mood at the various Christmas markets. The Gendarmentmarket was the best of the various markets we went. There were choir carolling,  performances on stage etc. But food wise, they were generally the same for all the markets. Sausages predominates! Of course these markets were not the most entertaining place for a 1 year old toddler. But Charlotte did enjoyed looking at the lightings everywhere and having junk food! Fries were her favourite! Feeling guilty for feeding her junk, we tried our best to visit some proper eating places so that Charlotte can at least have a proper meal. Pasta was the best bet whenever we travel. We visited a kindercafe when in Berlin. Not only did the place entertained her, she enjoyed her food as well. Berlin is considered a kid's friendly destination. We did managed to find something to entertain Charlotte whenever we were on the move. Like a random ...
