Pending Down My Thoughts for 2021

The year 2021 is coming to an end. The year of Covid. The year we left LA and returned to Singapore for good. It has been 9 months since we got back but I still feel like it happened so recently. One of the Singaporean family we met in LA and hung out very often is in town to visit. Charlotte asked if we can return to LA together. She asked if we are really not going back anymore. We all miss LA a lot. Definitely much more than Moscow even though Moscow is a very memorable place too.

Spent the day at Sentosa, The Luge. Kiddos had a lot of fun despite the heat. I enjoyed myself a lot too and I am missing the times we hung out in LA. Thinking about them going back and us staying behind makes me a little sad. The kids still got along very well even though we have not met for sometime. Hopefully their friendship will remain as they continue to grow up.

Recap of 2021

1. I realized I can bake.

2. I love making bread or trying to make food cute.

3. Mason stayed home a lot because of Covid.

4. We left LA

5. I started work at Temasek the moment I got back to Singapore.

6. I hated an office hour desk bound job.

7. I miss hanging out with my kids when I am at work.

8. I started running again.

9. I still do not know what I can do to earn money so I'm turning back to an office job again.

Resolution for 2022

1. Settle in our new place.

2. Do my best at work.

3. Do not neglect the kids despite returning to the workforce.

4. Find happiness in my so called "routine" life back in Singapore.

I secretly wish we can get posted out again but to a nice European or Western country.

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

Reunion Dinner on New Year's Eve... New Year Day 1 (Chu yi) My fav dish. It's a vegetarian dish we always eat on Chu yi. Think only cantonese eats this. yummy.. and we also have to drink Cheng Teng. New Year Day 2 (Chu er)

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
