Christmas Countdown in Berlin

Christmas started early for us this year as we headed to Berlin to soak up the festive mood at the various Christmas markets.
The Gendarmentmarket was the best of the various markets we went. There were choir carolling,  performances on stage etc. But food wise, they were generally the same for all the markets. Sausages predominates!

Of course these markets were not the most entertaining place for a 1 year old toddler. But Charlotte did enjoyed looking at the lightings everywhere and having junk food! Fries were her favourite! Feeling guilty for feeding her junk, we tried our best to visit some proper eating places so that Charlotte can at least have a proper meal. Pasta was the best bet whenever we travel.

We visited a kindercafe when in Berlin. Not only did the place entertained her, she enjoyed her food as well.

Berlin is considered a kid's friendly destination. We did managed to find something to entertain Charlotte whenever we were on the move. Like a random trampoline area.
We managed to visit the Berlin Wall memorial when the little one was taking a nap too. Travelling with a toddler means only 1 activity a day. It is impossible to do too much in a day.

As we forgo our stroller for this trip, the carrier was my best friend. Charlotte sure did gave me a good workout during this trip. But I think it made moving around much easier. We moved around mainly on public transports and it was a breeze. Derrick was a good navigator.

Waiting for our bus to arrive.
Our hotel was also a good choice. We had a pool where Charlotte could go take a dip in the mornings before we headed out.
4 days in Berlin just flew past with us visiting Christmas markets and allowing Charlotte to have as much play time as possible whenever she was awake. I guess she enjoyed herself as much as we did (it was also very tiring for us everyday when we returned to the hotel. This is the reality of traveling with a kid).

Bye Berlin!

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
