Europe Trip Final - Italy (Rome, Pisa, Milan, Venice)

Looking through all the pics bring back sooo many memories. I miss traveling. Although it was tiring, everyday was fun filled and there were never ending things to do. I want to say thanks to my traveling partners for being so accommodating and fun! And also thanks to der who is always taking care of me :)

We arrived in Rome via the overnight sleeper train. *Traveling Tip* Do not share a cabin of 6 if you have a super huge luggage like ours. There is really no space!

That's us in the super small cabin

Along the very small aisle of the train

Welcome to Rome

The Colosseum

The Pantheon

We found a cool space for taking pics!

Travis Fountain

Sitting on the Spanish Steps

And we found the best gelato in Rome. There were so many articles all over the shop and they have a super long queue heh.

Day 2 - Vatican City
We woke up early and reached Vatican city before the gates opened. Fortunately for us, we were at the start of the queue. Just a bit later, the queue to get in will be snaking.

Just like everywhere in Europe, the ceilings in the museum have very intricate details.

Outside the museum

Our next stop was to Milan. Instead of taking a train straight to Milan, we did a 2 hrs quick stop at Pisa.

We left our luggage at the train station and did a dash to catch the bus straight to the leaning tower.

Milan
There was not much sights at Milan besides shopping. The main attraction there was the Duomo Cathedral.

The amazing shopping stretch just beside the Duomo. I love the magnificent structure.

Even though the sky looked super bright in the picture, it was already night time. Think it was about 8pm. All the shops were closed hence we decided to come back the next day!
This was us having a proper nice breakfast at the hotel. The Milan hotel was the best. Even the breakfast was pretty good heh. They served me proper coffee :)

Even though we had our breakfast, we made a stop at Luini. A must have in Milan. Affordable and absolutely mouth watering. I recommend the Ham and Cheese. I was tempted by the spinach and cheese but realized that the original ham and cheese is still the yummiest.

Not many pictures taken at Milan as we were shopping most of the time. We also went to Switzerland to shop! hahah We dropped by Fox Town factory outlet. Der bought the most stuff over there. Sad to say, I bought nothing. :(

The final leg before we head back to London to catch our flight was to Venice. It was a pity as it was pouring heavily on that day. It is know that Venice is sinking. But with the rain, the place was totally flooded! Makes the place look really sad.

Nonetheless we had some picturesque backdrop.

Gondola services. With the weather and price, it was definitely not worth a ride. oh well...

Anyway, it is Bye Europe for now... I had my fair share of fun. It is back to working hard again!

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
