Europe Trip Part 2 - Paris

I've changed my blog skin. Finally something I feel more comfortable with, after my old skin got corrupted. Blogger now has some pretty cool new background and it is a very big improvement from the previous boring ones that I get to choose from.

Anyway for Paris, we also went with the 1 day sightseeing and 1 day shopping plan. I seriously have problems remembering all the names of the places of interest besides those common ones like Eiffel Tower hahah. But I must say I am very impressed by all the structures in Europe as I can see all the effort put into building all the buildings that we have visited.

The Metro in Paris

The Louvre

The walls inside is amazing. Even the ceilings are painted/carved out so magnificantly. I can't imagine how long it takes for everything to be done.

We got to see to see the Mona Lisa painting

And Venus de Milo

I also got Der to do some poses haha

Notre Dame.

Inside the Notre Dame. There was a mass going on when we were there.

The Arch

Sights along the way...

We also had our first gelato in Paris

And our first meal in a restaurant :)

Everyone's meal has a slight problem but we all had a good meal as well as a good laugh. Firstly, Bryan thought his meal came with a glass of wine. Apparently, the waiter was explaining to us that wine was used to cook one of the sauces in his starter below. We waiting till almost dessert and realized there was no wine coming.. haha. Seriously, we couldn't taste any wine in the starter.

Next was der's main course. Looks good huh?

He was surprised when the waiter asked how he wants his duck to be cooked. After a few moment, he replied WELL DONE! However, the duck came medium! hahah It was a little too bloody for him.

Then it was Lisa. Her main course was fish. There were so many bones in it by the time she reached the 3rd piece of fish, she gave up. She was too tired to eat anymore.

That's me and my escargots. I had no strength to use the clippers given (Pardon me but I have no idea what's the correct name for it). I secretly used my hands to hold the escargots up instead.

Alas, it was my dessert. We were all fascinated when the waiter came with a flame to light it up. It was because it has a very strong liquor on it, I almost choked when I had my first mouth. That was all for my dessert. Only Bryan the alcoholic finished it up.

All of our desserts.

Day 2 was shopping day! The famous shopping street.

We spotted LV. One building dedicated to it. How cool...

Rows of straight trees again

Der and I have such sweet tooth, we couldn't resist buying something from the pastry shops that we walk past.

The must go mall in Paris, Lafayette.

The view inside from top down is magnificant. *Traveling Tip* Actually the mall beside Lafayette sells exactly the same thing and there was less crowd. So one can browse at their own pace. Lafayette is more for people who knows exactly what they want. Not a place for browsing. Will definitely shop there instead the next time.

Our buys :)

Check out my new bag :) Loveee the leather. Bolso Loewe Amazona. It is about $800 cheaper over there as compared to Singapore :) :) :) Such a pity I can't get Chanel. There's a limit to how much I can spend. No offense to the China people over there. But they were buying as if everything was free! Super envious....

To complete our Paris trip, we headed to the Eiffel Tower.

It gave me the chills when I looked up from the base of the Tower. I can't imagine the person who has to be up there building that thing.

Waiting for the lift to bring us up.

The view from the top wasn't that scary though. It just reminds me of Hongkong the Peak.

Day 3 was basically chilling around before heading to Rome via the overnight train.

haha yes we went to Moulin Rouge in the day. Just to view the place. No action in the day.

Off to Rome next!

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

Having the Chills

If you, Derrick is ever reading this, I would suggest you close this page. It's my right to type whatever I want. I won't mince my words because this is my space. I hardly feel unwell and this not the best time to fall sick. Yet I'm having the chills. Whenever my boob hurts, I will start to get the chills and a little temperature. It had to come at the time when i'm feeling totally not in the mood to do anything. I think I should swallow a few more pills. What I had isn't enough. Guess feeling down really brings down one's immune system. We just got news that we will be moving back to Singapore and the first thing that came to my mind is F*** I've to face her. That fake face (literally fake. No amount of make up helps la. old means old. draw what draw) who pretends she doesn't care or even when we talk face to face she says no no it's ok. PUI! Der will be unhappy reading this but i blame it on him for making the situation like this. No amount of ...

Bigger Issue

Now a bigger issue has risen for us to worry about. Due to unfortunate circumstances, LA seems to be going through an apocalypse. Everyone is told to stay at home. Schools, libraries, malls, everything is closed. No more dine in restaurants, only take out and delivery. Only shops that are open are mainly grocery stores and there are either limited food choices or there are queues to get in so as to ensure "social distancing". This "social distancing" is the in word now. I am not very sure about this term. But the distancing sux. It's so quiet everywhere, I feel like a zombie would appear in front of me any moment.  I just got news that even playgrounds will be closed starting tomorrow. How scary is that? Even though it has been scary going to the playground these days because we always end up being the only family there, at least the kids get to run a round a bit.  It is tough staying home with 2 kids. I feel frustrated and a bit lost. I don't want Ch...
