Japan Part 1

Alrighty i'm going to upload some pics to entertain all that have visited this blog and leaving feeling disappointed! Feeling a little tired from the pre-Halloween outing with my colleagues so I'll just make this a short entry.

Arriving at Japan's Narita Airport

And the first intriguing thing was the toilets! I wish Singapore has them. I love playing with the buttons haha

Ven and I with our luggages waiting to take the train from the airport to Tokyo

Inside the train

We went crazy at Tokyo station just looking at the selection of food stuff!

Everything was so nicely packaged, we felt like buying everything! We finally managed to narrow down to these...

After 1 hr train ride to Tokyo and 2 more hrs on the bullet train, we arrived at our first destination in Japan, Kyoto!

A closer view of Kyoto Tower

We also noticed a lot of lockers around all the station in Japan. It's good for tourist to leave their luggage in it but we really wonder why does locals want to use them. We don't leave our bags in lockers when we go to Orchard to shop. Anyway, decided to take a pic with the lockers hah

By the time we found K House and checked in, it was time for more food!! Had ramen at a shop recommended by the hostel staff. It was good. We were fascinated by the very thin gyoza skin. We never had such thin skin gyoza in Singapore.

We finally meet Eka!

Strolling around the area after dinner. Even though the temperature is probably between 15-19 degrees, I must say it is quite cold for me!! I was shivering when the wind blows!

As Japan is a land of vending machine, we couldn't resist buying an ice cream from a vending machine. I must say, the ice cream is good too haha

That's all for Day 1 of our arrival in Kyoto. Time to sleep now!! Good night all :)

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...
