Happy Birthday Darling! :)

Had a birthday lunch date with Der today as he's attending a wedding dinner tonight. As usual, I've decided to try out somewhere new and it turned out FANTASTIC! Both of us loved the place and food so much, we will definitely be back again!

Introducing Dozo....
For lunch, we had a choice of a 6 course or 7 course set. We chose the 6 course and after tax and service charge, the bill came up to around $45 each. It is really worth it! Der couldn't stop taking pictures of the food and himself. So enjoy the pics :)

Some pasta sticks and a small refreshing glass of drink to wet our appetite before the start of the course.
Course 1: Starter- Scallops, foie gras and smoke salmon.
Course 2: Side dish
I had escargots while der had Foie gras chawamushi topped with black truffle slice.
Course 3: Soup
Crab bisque vs Mushroom soup with truffles
Course 4: Main
Beef tenderloin on "pu-ye" and granite hot stone (Must order!) vs Pork Cheek ( the meat is so soft and tender)
The server told me to cook the beef slice one by one. *Droolzzz*
Pork Cheek
Course 5: Drinks
Iced fruity refresher. Just like the name, it was truly refreshing to have it after the meal.
Der staring at his Dozo signature mocktail. Looks like some vegetable drink haha
Course 6: Desserts!!!
Japanese Mochi with green tea ice cream topped with popping candy! our mouth was crackling up hhaha

Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. The chocolate oozes out when cut it..... heavenly....
As it was der's b'day, Dozo was nice enough to provide a small little cake for him :)

This marks the end of our mouth watering lunch :) It is really worth a try. I can't wait to find another occasion to be back!

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
