Bali Part 2

Happy Deepavali! I love holidays, I love slacking around alone at home, i love.... dream.. dream dream dream....dream.......only trouble is, gee whiz, I'm dreamin' my life away....(Lyrics from All I Hve to Do is Dream)

Anyway, here to complete my entry on my Bali trip. In the mean time, I'm looking forward to my Vietnam trip at the end of Nov.

Day 3 in Bali marks the main purpose of our visit to Bali. To witness the big day of Raymond. We met up at the lobby at 9am SHARP in the morning carrying a tray each filled with goodies. We've been reminded repeatedly about the auspicious hour we have to catch. The custom there states that 9 singles are supposed to each carry a tray filled with goodies and bring back half the portion later to be distributed to the relatives.
We received ang paos for helping to carry a tray each heh
While we were happily cam whoring in the shop house we were in, the parents of both side were engaged in a...I've no idea what's the word to use. I would say involved in a trade hahah but they're not selling their daughter. Basically, they're discussing the price of the wedding (i thought these do not exist anymore)

Followed by the tea ceremony

The girls and the groom

Pic with the bride and groom :)

After the day ceremony, we prepared for the dinner at night.

Our very cute door gift. Chocolates with the couple's face printed on it.

Cousins and friends from Singapore

Sweet~Happy note for the night.

Finally, the 4th day - the day we have to go back home. But before that, we spent the whole day on a tour of Bali. We visited the main attractions of Bali.

The paddy fields

The volcanoe

Temple. The water is believed to have healing effect.
And the last destination, to see the sun set. The background's pretty stunning. Think my pics don't really do them justice.

Bye bye Bali. Nitez All...

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

Pending Down My Thoughts for 2021

10.07pm, 31 Dec 2021.  The year 2021 is coming to an end. The year of Covid. The year we left LA and returned to Singapore for good. It has been 9 months since we got back but I still feel like it happened so recently. One of the Singaporean family we met in LA and hung out very often is in town to visit. Charlotte asked if we can return to LA together. She asked if we are really not going back anymore. We all miss LA a lot. Definitely much more than Moscow even though Moscow is a very memorable place too.  Spent the day at Sentosa, The Luge. Kiddos had a lot of fun despite the heat. I enjoyed myself a lot too and I am missing the times we hung out in LA. Thinking about them going back and us staying behind makes me a little sad. The kids still got along very well even though we have not met for sometime. Hopefully their friendship will remain as they continue to grow up. Recap of 2021 1. I realized I can bake.  2. I love making bread or trying to make food cute. 3....
