Bali Part 1

Bali had been a nice getaway trip for me this year. I truly enjoyed myself not only because I had a chance to travel to some where new but also because of the new people I met. Having gone to Bali to attend Der's cousin's engagement dinner allowed me to know Der's cousins and friends better. Though we may be a little different in many aspects, I do like their company :) They are really funny ppl.

So 4 of us arrived in Bali early in the morning at 930am as we took a cheaper airline (Lion Air) instead of SQ with the rest. It wasn't that bad. The plane was clean, the seats were comfortable. It was only the food that wasn't to my liking but I guess having something is better than none. According to TS, the apple juice was the best thing in the plane hah.

The morning in Bali was thus spent roaming the streets. They were still empty in the early morning so we could shop easily without the tourist crowd and we did managed to do some shopping :)

While roaming the streets, I spotted horses. They seemed so sad, with their heads always down. I think the people there made them worked too hard. I see them pulling the carriage even past midnight!

After some shopping and getting some rest, we decided to head to the beach to bum for a couple of hours before we get ready to pick up the SQ people.

The sand by the beach is so fine, i was amazed.
Right after getting some sun, we got ready to be picked up by the host to dinner. But first, back to the airport to pick the rest. The airport is only 20 mins drive from kuta (the place we were staying). Waiting at the hotel lobby...

Finally, the first team of SQ to arrive in Bali heh. Ah Leow and his missy.
Straight after dinner, we headed down to a club to get some booze. The couples of the night, with the groom right in the middle :)

To spice up the night, we decided to play some games. Check out the number of shots we ordered! No one was spared for the night.

Day 2: Despite drinking till the wee hours, we had to get up at 730am and be all ready by 9am to set off the next day. First up in our itinerary was sea sports. Der and I decided to just chill while the others tried out para sailing.

All geared up

Sun tanning again! I rather be in the shade as the sun was unbearable for me.
Finally, the long awaited, highlght of the trip - The SPA. Waiting at the counter for the guy to explain the different mask i can choose from. I chose the milk mask in the end. It says it is for softening and renewing the skin and has whitening effect heh.
The experience was totally worth it. It only cost SGD 49. It includes a steam, massage, body scrub, body mask, some jacquzzi sort of bath. I hope i can do it every week in singapore heh. Too bad it's so expensive in Singapore.

After the relaxing time, we went to shop a bit before heading down to the beach for dinner. Once again, the view was amazing! I was totally in love with dining by the beach. How cool is tt! We watch the sun set before enjoying the wonderful seafood galore, which mel happily whooped up everything to the disgust of my bf who thinks i'm a glutton. But heck! I loveeee~~
To be continued... Will update on the actual purpose of the trip in the next post.

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
