Turning One

Baby Charlotte is turning 1 next Monday and we are heading back to Singapore to hold a birthday party for her. We are going to try and squeeze about 80 people in our tiny, empty pigeon hole. I wonder how it will turn out. The buffet lunch and cake have been settled so far. Just have to get the house decorated a little and pack some goodie bags for the children that will be attending Charlotte's party. Charlotte will probably not understand what is going on but she gets excited and claps whenever she hears the words Happy Birthday or hears the Birthday song being played. Guess she learnt everything from BabyTV. Yes she has been watching a lot of TV but before anyone starts to judge me, I feel that it is a good source of entertainment for her in this cold weather and I think she is learning. As the weather turns cold, I feel so lazy to dress her up and bring her out. Nonetheless, she managed to hang out with her friend on the weekend at the park where it was freezing. The double ...

Happy Birthday Papa!

And soon, it will be Happy Birthday Charlotte! Papa's bday was a trial for Charlotte's upcoming cake blowing ceremony haha. This baby girl's bday is just around the corner. She's turning one on 24th October and we have decided to head back to Singapore to celebrate with our family. We were laughing our heads off when looking through old pictures of Charlotte as a tiny little new born. She always had that grumpy look on her face and she was so tanned haha. Today, this baby has grown to a running and accident prone big baby hah (She just fell and hit her face on the steps yesterday, resulting in a cut on her eye lid and a bruise on her nose bridge. sigh....). Charlotte is super active. She can't stop running around. She gets really excited when she see toys. Going to the playground keeps her occupied in the day and allows her to release all that energy that is bursting inside her. Eating comes next. Charlotte loves to eat everything that adults eat and espe...

Updates

Back in Moscow once again. Have been back in Singapore for the past 3 weeks and it was an activity packed trip. I've managed to snug in a trip to Taiwan with my parents as well as attend a wedding. It was Charlotte's godma Steffi's wedding. Charlotte managed to stay with my parents alone for more than 3 hours because bridesmaid duties called for. However she still refused to drink milk from the bottle. She rather go without milk. I think the highlight of this trip back to Singapore was the Taiwan trip. Besides being stuck in the car for long hours, I think Charlotte was very happy on this trip. She never had a dull moment whenever she's up. The moment she wakes up, gong gong and popo sprung into action and whizzed her out of the door. She is mostly happy and smiling most of the time. All she needed was space to run around and no one to say "no" to this and that hah. We even managed to celebrate my dad's birthday on this trip. This trip is not t...

Helsinki

Unfortunately for us, the weather was bad on the day we were to take the ferry to Helsinki from Tallinn. We arrived at the port and was told that the 12pm ferry was cancelled. The next ferry departs at 6pm. The suggestion was to catch another ferry that departs in 20 mins time and it will take about 10 mins to walk over to the other port. Even though it was raining, we decided to try our luck and walked as fast as possible to try and catch the ferry. Luck was on our side, as we managed to catch it. It was a slower ferry. Instead of 1.5hrs, this ferry took 2.5hrs. However it was more of a cruise then a ferry. Charlotte seemed happy about it as there was a play corner on board that could keep her entertained. Despite the large ship, the choppy waters made us a little sick. Even Charlotte threw up all of a sudden. But she continued playing like nothing happened after she threw up. We did not do much in Helsinki. Mainly just walking around and as usual, looked for places to keep Charl...

From Tallinn to Helsinki

We could not have choose a better place for vacation. I conclude that a 1.5hours flight is the perfect duration for baby Leow which means a good flight for us parents too. With just a nap, she arrived in another country. What more can one ask for? Charlotte was all happy and bouncy at the airport and during boarding. The moment the plane was taking off, she fell asleep while nursing. Woohoo! I could not be happier when she sleeps hah. Upon arrival, she woke up and was all cherry when we waiting for our luggage. Tallinn came as a surprise to me. I did not expect the country to be so artsy, cosy and even child friendly. Even the airport was so cozy. There were little cafes littered around the airport. Not those chain coffee house we see in big airports. There were also play corners every few meters in the transit area. No wonder the poster states "The cosiest airport". I definitely agree! We booked Hotel Palace and it came as another surprise to us. We were upgraded ...

Waddle Waddle Waddle

Charlotte finally goes swimming again and this is the longest swim till date. In the past, she just goes for short dips. It has been some time since Charlotte went swimming. One reason was because it takes more effort to bring a baby to the pool and secondly, I am a little worried about her skin. So I was quite excited when our friend suggested bringing the kids swimming on national holiday. During the summer, there is an area in Moscow at VDNKh that resembles Tanjong Beach in Singapore. It was our first time there and I really liked it. But I think it is rather expensive. On weekdays, there is a 50% off and it comes up to 800Rub per adult to use the pool for 3 hours. It is free for babies. Basically, I paid 800Rub just to sit in the baby pool, holding on to Charlotte haha. Charlotte upgraded from a neck float to a ring float around her body, courtesy of Alene. Her blur look here is simply hilarious. Charlotte enjoying herself in the pool. The 2 babies in the pool The ...

We are back in Moscow!

Jumping up and down at the Moscow airport's VIP lounge at 8am in the morning. Charlotte's energy level is increasing as she grows. I am impressed by her level of energy whenever she is awake. After taking her shower, she was all ready to roam the house with her new walker. She seems to enjoy cruising around these days. We thought she looked like a toddler carrying this little bag that we got as a free gift from buying diapers hah. She looks so funny in this pic, we cannot stop laughing whenever we look at it. She looks all ready to go to school! Since it was the weekend, we decided to visit the zoo the next day with our friend. Once again, Charlotte looks like a big girl when she is all dressed up! Look at her excited face when she knows that she will be heading out. The dress was given by her Godma Penny and it fits perfectly! Coupled with her melissa sandals that we bought... woohoo.. big girl! Charlotte had so much fun, she knocked out from 5pm till th...

Back in Singapore

We are back in Singapore and the stay got extended longer than it was supposed to be. I am not complaining about it. In fact, I am trying to make full use of my time here and to expose baby Leow to as many things as possible. This trip back to Singapore, baby Leow attended her first wedding dinner. Congratulations to the newly wed, Nesh and Jacinta. She also made her first trip to the Singapore Zoo and I think she enjoyed herself. She was screaming excitedly and kicking her legs all the time. I was also surprised when she actually watched the sea lion performance. Her eyes were following the movement of the sea lion when it moved.  My parents were as excited as her to bring her out heh. I hope Charlotte doesn't become a spoilt brat as she grows up. She has been showered with so many gifts and love from everyone that we know. Even a short catch up with the girls got her showered with gifts! This lucky baby got herself 2 godma from this trip back to Singapore - Steffi a...
