From Tallinn to Helsinki

We could not have choose a better place for vacation. I conclude that a 1.5hours flight is the perfect duration for baby Leow which means a good flight for us parents too. With just a nap, she arrived in another country. What more can one ask for?

Charlotte was all happy and bouncy at the airport and during boarding.
The moment the plane was taking off, she fell asleep while nursing. Woohoo! I could not be happier when she sleeps hah. Upon arrival, she woke up and was all cherry when we waiting for our luggage.
Tallinn came as a surprise to me. I did not expect the country to be so artsy, cosy and even child friendly. Even the airport was so cozy. There were little cafes littered around the airport. Not those chain coffee house we see in big airports. There were also play corners every few meters in the transit area. No wonder the poster states "The cosiest airport". I definitely agree!
We booked Hotel Palace and it came as another surprise to us. We were upgraded to a bigger room and was given complimentary buffet breakfast. Shiok! The room was beautiful and came with an adjourning living room. Charlotte warmed up to the room immediately and was crawling all over the place in excitement.
The hotel was conveniently situated opposite the city centre called Old Town. Thumbs up! We took a stroll down the town and headed to a weekend flea market. The area is rather small so it can be covered on foot.
Tried some fish and chips from a food truck at the flea market. The place was packed with people.
I love the shops in Tallinn too. This kids shop has a small play corner. So Charlotte can be entertained while we took turns to walk around.
These activities were enough to tire out Charlotte and yipppeee! Our time to sit down to enjoy a good meal. We headed to trip adviser no.1 restaurant - Rataskaevu 16. We were lucky to get a table because it was full after us even though it was 3.30pm. The food did not disappoint. It was sooo good. Even the pumpkin bread was freshly baked.

The dessert was mind blowing. It was Frozen Blue Cheese Cake. We never tasted anything like this before. There was no stinky blue cheese smell.
Travelling with Charlotte means including kids activities in our travel plans. Otherwise she will go all cranky if she is being carried around the whole day. So we headed to Kadriorg park the next day morning in search for some playground and nature for her. The park was beautiful. It resembles Catherine Palace in St. Petersburg.

We spent the whole morning in the park. Charlotte managed to let out all that energy in her at the playground.

Charlotte's naughty face when we told her it is time to leave.
A short and sweet 2 days in Tallinn then we hopped on a ferry over to Helsinki the next day.

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO!
