I've made the decision

I have made the decision to resign and move with Derrick to his next posting. Derrick's stint at Cairo has ended after 9 months and he's moving to Moscow, the capital city of Russia, on Wednesday. I guess it is time for me to really experience what is the real marriage life and what it really means by living together.  I am pretty excited about the move but I also pray that we will not get sick of each other or find each other unbearable to live with. I have yet to be told when is my official last day at work as my co. is still looking for my replacement. I have sounded them out that it would be sometime around the end of March/beginning of April. In the meantime, Derrick has been really sweet in accommodating to my fantasy of traveling in style together where everything got to be matching hah. I've chosen a range of beautiful pastel looking luggage. They are no where near professional for him but I love them! hahah Every time I look at them, I just feel like I'm on a...

Happy Valentine's Day

V day came early for me this year... A hand made bouquet of flowers from Derrick. I was impressed. I thought he bought it off the rack. From this... To this.. The final product.. Not bad huh? He can be a florist next time heh.  Thank you for the lovely flowers! :)

Happy Chinese New Year 2014

Happy Chinese New Year all the way from Cairo! I arrived in Cairo on new year's eve, just in time to have reunion dinner with Derrick. With all my prepared ingredients, I'm all ready to cook hah! Derrick on the other hand, was so afraid that I will poison him. Boo~ Upon arrival, I made Char Siew Noodles hahaha actually the only thing i needed to cook was the noodles. Easy Peasy but Derrick was so impressed. He totally looked down on me man.. Dinner was show time haha basically, it was supposed to be the only meal I'm cooking. Derrick could not sit down the whole time when I was cooking as he was so afraid that I will burn down the kitchen. It was a little irritating.  Even though we did not have any fancy stuff like sea food, abalones for reunion dinner, dinner turned out pretty good! :) We had corn soup, stir fried veg with shitake mushrooms, soya sauce chicken, roast pork, ngoh hiang and chinese susages. I was proud of my corn soup which I was so afraid it wou...

My nails for CNY

Cute huh? :)

Happy 2014!

As sort of a New Year resolution, I finally started practicing Yoga again. I have been procrastinating for too long. I found a newly set up yoga place near my office with a nice and clean environment that I really like as well. Hopefully I keep it up :) I also got a new make up kit for the new year. It is sort of a Christmas pressie I chose for myself and sponsored by Der hah. My Anna Sui Minnie Mouse collection. Isn't it pretty? I may not know what is installed for me in 2014 but one thing for sure, this year will be a year with many new born. On the top of my head, I already know of 5 new babies coming into this world real soon. All the best to all the mummies-to-be. I wish all of you a smooth delivery and I can't wait to meet all the little ones :)

Nagoya in 2 days - Merry Christmas!

Nothing is impossible! hahah We covered parts of Nagoya in 2 days and I had fun! This is my 2nd time in Japan and this trip has definitely rekindled my love for Japan. I can't wait to go back again! Everywhere in Nagoya is pretty well connected but of course as tourist.. I guess we focused on the more convenient, centralized places. We stayed at Crown Plaza Nagoya, which is just located just outside the Kanayama train station. The view from my room was like an observatory deck. This pic was taken during sun rise :)  One of the attractions in Nagoya is the Railway Museum. There were all sorts of trains displayed. From the earliest trains to the latest Maglev train. We also visited the Nagoya castle. Parts of the castle were destroyed during WW2. The best known monument associated with Nagoya castle, is the Kinshachi (golden dolphin). Different is so into this creature as it is totally shiny gold in colour. To Derrick, it screams HUAT AH!! Thus, he has to sit...

Stockholm & Cophenhagen 2013 - End of my honeymoon

The last leg of our trip was to Stockholm and Copenhagen and I was surprised that I actually love these 2 capitals more than I thought I would. I think I have something for buildings.. I just love the kind of buildings in these 2 places. I chanced upon this view on board a bus and I had to brave the cold to run back all the way just to take a pic here. I think the rows of houses are so pretty Our view from Sheraton Stockholm was also pretty amazing. The tall building is Stockholm's City Hall. Since the City Hall was close by, we took a walk over and boy.. I was mesmerized again... Clear blue skies.. and those buildings....I like this city! In the compound of City Hall Besides the buildings, of course we went to what Sweden is well known for - IKEA. The place is a maze hah Imagine Singapore's IKEA 10 times bigger. We couldn't miss the meatballs while we were there...They were yummy but I think it tasted the same as the ones in Singapore. I could be wrong as I...
