Happy Chinese New Year 2014

Happy Chinese New Year all the way from Cairo! I arrived in Cairo on new year's eve, just in time to have reunion dinner with Derrick. With all my prepared ingredients, I'm all ready to cook hah! Derrick on the other hand, was so afraid that I will poison him. Boo~

Upon arrival, I made Char Siew Noodles hahaha actually the only thing i needed to cook was the noodles. Easy Peasy but Derrick was so impressed. He totally looked down on me man..
Dinner was show time haha basically, it was supposed to be the only meal I'm cooking. Derrick could not sit down the whole time when I was cooking as he was so afraid that I will burn down the kitchen. It was a little irritating.
Even though we did not have any fancy stuff like sea food, abalones for reunion dinner, dinner turned out pretty good! :) We had corn soup, stir fried veg with shitake mushrooms, soya sauce chicken, roast pork, ngoh hiang and chinese susages.
I was proud of my corn soup which I was so afraid it would turn out bland. Thank goodness! It was so flavourful :) It turned out a bit too much so we had enough left over for dinner the next day.
Even though we are in Cairo, Chu Yi was visiting for us as well. Thank you to Peter who invited us over to his place for Chinese New Year gathering. For this lunch gathering, I prepared Yu Sheng. All thanks to my mum who taught me how to prepare it. Everyone was impressed by it :) I have to give credit to derrick who moulded it out into a horse shape as well.
This is me putting on all the condiments
Lunch with Singaporeans based in Cairo. I had a great time listening to all their stories and experiences.  Thank you once again for having us over. Till we meet again~
I wish everyone all the best for the new year. Live life to the fullest and be open to all kinds of experiences you will go through in life. You will never know what you will discover.

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

Having the Chills

If you, Derrick is ever reading this, I would suggest you close this page. It's my right to type whatever I want. I won't mince my words because this is my space. I hardly feel unwell and this not the best time to fall sick. Yet I'm having the chills. Whenever my boob hurts, I will start to get the chills and a little temperature. It had to come at the time when i'm feeling totally not in the mood to do anything. I think I should swallow a few more pills. What I had isn't enough. Guess feeling down really brings down one's immune system. We just got news that we will be moving back to Singapore and the first thing that came to my mind is F*** I've to face her. That fake face (literally fake. No amount of make up helps la. old means old. draw what draw) who pretends she doesn't care or even when we talk face to face she says no no it's ok. PUI! Der will be unhappy reading this but i blame it on him for making the situation like this. No amount of ...
