Stockholm & Cophenhagen 2013 - End of my honeymoon

The last leg of our trip was to Stockholm and Copenhagen and I was surprised that I actually love these 2 capitals more than I thought I would. I think I have something for buildings.. I just love the kind of buildings in these 2 places. I chanced upon this view on board a bus and I had to brave the cold to run back all the way just to take a pic here. I think the rows of houses are so pretty
Our view from Sheraton Stockholm was also pretty amazing. The tall building is Stockholm's City Hall.
Since the City Hall was close by, we took a walk over and boy.. I was mesmerized again... Clear blue skies.. and those buildings....I like this city!
In the compound of City Hall

Besides the buildings, of course we went to what Sweden is well known for - IKEA. The place is a maze hah Imagine Singapore's IKEA 10 times bigger.
We couldn't miss the meatballs while we were there...They were yummy but I think it tasted the same as the ones in Singapore. I could be wrong as I hardly go to IKEA to have them.
And Der decided to wear flower bud on his head? No idea what's that but I just realized that there was a guy at the corner staring at him while this pic was taken hahahhha
From Stockholm, we took a 6.35am train to Copenhagen. In my half asleep state, I was jolted up when the train passed this beautiful white place.. I thought I was dreaming.. Fortunately my cam was just in my hands :) I kept thinking maybe Edward cullen will fly out from there anytime hah
Copenhagen build brought my amazement to another level hahah the same kind of structure but they were colourful! So pretty! I feel like I am in a storybook.
 Us walking along the streets
We had a good lunch along this street at a restaurant called Cap Horn. It was a traditional Danish meal of Smørrebrød, basically a open faced sandwich.
We took a cruise that brought us most of the attractions as an introductions. Thereafter, we actually managed to go on foot to visit all of them again. One of the well known statue in Copenhagen is the little mermaid.
Another interesting spot we covered was Freetown Christiania. There are a few rules to follow when entering this zone and 1 of it was no photographer. Basically there are people taking drugs there even though it is considered illegal. I'm not really sure how this works. But I'm sure anyone reading this can google it on your own. This is the entrance to the place and the only pic I could take.
I thought that the murals on the wall were drawn very well.
The last day in Copenhagen was spent roaming the Christmas market cum amusement park in Tivoli Gardens.
This marks the end of our honeymoon. 2 weeks flew by so quickly! The below pic was taken in Stockholm.. premonition that I'll be sad when my honeymoon end?? hahahh
Oh well there's always a next trip and it will just get better! I'm so looking forward to all of them :)

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
