What We Got Up To In Sin

Fortunately for me, I have got parents who wake up very early in the mornings. This fits Charlotte's schedule perfectly. Due to the time difference, Charlotte's day usually starts at 4am. She will doze off at 10am for a couple of mins then stay awake till 2.30pm then sleep again all the way till 10pm. This gives me some time to go out for dinner with my friends and still be back in time when she wakes up. I was super tired though due to the lack of sleep.

Parks were the main places Charlotte been to when we were in Singapore. Anyway, there were not a lot of places we can go to early in the morning. It is good though as the sun is not up yet. So we won't get burnt by the scorching Singapore sun. When in Sin, Charlotte got a bicycle from Gong Gong. So she was excited to go cycling everyday.

Day 1 morning at Admiralty Park.
It is also my first time there. I would not have gone all the way to woodlands at 6am if I did not have a jet lag kid with me. Charlotte definitely enjoyed the huge playground there.
Another morning along Kallang River. The view was beautiful. I was just strolling along while my dad looks after Charlotte.
East Coast Park was where we went most often.
Even at midnight when Charlotte's little friend Sienna was still awake. They are like teenagers hahah I remember hanging out at ECP at night when I was a teen and staying out late seemed to be the norm.
We were glad they managed to meet up not once but twice. We spent our last day in Sin hanging out with Sienna and her god sis at Shangri-la - buds. I love the playground there and would love to go back again. Not only did they have a fun indoor playground, the outdoor water park was amazing too.

3 of them chilling? haha
During our time in Sin, Charlotte visited both the Zoo and the Bird Park. We went from feeding giraffes at the LA Zoo to feeding elephants in the Singapore Zoo.
The grandparents brought her to the Bird Park without us. It gave us parents some time to ourselves.  We had a shiok massage session and Charlotte got to have lots of fun too! It was a good day.

In addition, we had some celebrations because we went back on the week of my mum's birthday. Perfect timing.
The stay in Singapore was short but sweet. I cannot emphasise enough how the flight and jet lag were such pain in the ass though. I'm glad Charlotte is over it now.

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
