Japan Stopover

We made a short stop over at Japan, Tokyo on our way back to LA from Singapore. We have been looking forward to all the yummy food that Japan has got to offer (we seriously think that there are no bad food in Japan). I was also looking forward to skin care and make up shopping but that did not materalized. I realized that shopping is hard with a kid in toll and make up is really no longer my thing. I still enjoy looking at all the new products but I hardly use any make up at all these days.

I initially wanted to go to Disneyland and Disney Sea because of Charlotte. But Derrick had enough and just wanted to roam Tokyo to chill and eat. Honestly, without Disney, Tokyo is not much fun for the kid. So we made a trip to the Zoo instead and it turned out really fun! Charlotte is starting to enjoy Zoo visits more. She will ask to see certain animals whenever we mention that we are going to the Zoo. :) The Panda was the star of the Japan's Zoo.

Our very expensive tourist pic because we decided to be a real tourist for once and waste our $ hah
Of course we would made a trip to a shrine as well as they are all over Japan. We visited the Meiji Shrine where the large space was good for a restless kid to run around.

Charlotte's praying face hahah. I really wonder if she actually has a wish whenever I ask her to make one. She can never tell me what she wished for though.
My little girl caught the beauty bug and started being obsessed with make up after her god mummy Steffi got her a toy make up kit. She would wake up every morning and tell me that she needs to put make up (which is applying lip stick). So when she was at the drug store, she went crazy swatching all the eye shadows. This kept her busy while I scanned through to see what the shop has got to offer.
Lastly, we could not rave anymore about the food. Besides trying out the list of food that were provided by friends, we also tried a couple of random restaurants. Everything we had were so good! From fusion to traditional and even hipster!

Charlotte was really happy whenever we go into a restaurant as she knows that good food awaits her.

Charlotte definitely enjoyed every single meal, even down to the packet milk we bought for her to drink every morning and night. She said it's yummy! haha

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
