Las Vegas Baby!

We spent the last few days of 2017 in LV. It was our first road trip since we got to LA. We held back road trips for a while as Charlotte does not do well in cars. She is still not the best but I think she's getting better. Mummy was all prepared for our virgin road trip. I brought along an old school potty in the car which proved to be very very useful. *pat on my back*

The trip there was supposed to be about a 4 hours drive. So we did a stop over in between at barstow outlet to do a bit of shopping. I was also totally prepared for the stop over. I brought fried rice and sandwich for our lunch! Charlotte was pleased with her lunch. She gave me a LIKE! hah
Basically, Charlotte spent most of her time either eating or sleeping in the car. She was surprisingly good on the journey there. We even encountered a jam. Thus it took us a longer time to get to LV. But Charlotte still managed to arrive in style :)
On the second day, we drove up to Grand Canyon. It was a day tour. The drive was pretty tough. Der was so exhausted from all the driving. We took a helicopter ride around the west rim. It was our first helicopter experience. Charlotte was so excited while waiting for our turn. But when we were on it she practically froze throughout the ride. Not sure why hahha
The rock formation was amazing
With the helicopter ride, you will see almost the whole view of the west rim. The day tour included a bus ride to various stops to view the grand canyon but I felt that with the helicopter ride, the other stops were not really necessary. But they were good photo taking opportunities.

I liked a particular stop at a ranch though. We had a good lunch there and Charlotte had fun running around.
We even caught the beautiful sunset on the way back from Grand Canyon.

Back in LV, we visited various hotels as each hotel had an attraction of their own. From aquariums (Silverton Hotel) to flowers (Bellagio Hotel) and of course arcades. We managed to win some toys at a hotel called Circus Circus. The first win was a small lizard.
We were so pumped up about the win, we decided to try our luck for more. And.. Yes!! we won again! A giant ball! We were sooo excited hahah. I think we adults were the most excited about our win. I love winning big stuff. Fortunately, we had a big car. So bringing the big ball back was not a problem at all!
To get a nice view of LV, we headed to the Bellagio Hotel. They have a beautiful fountain but the shows were only in the afternoons. In any case, it was nice spot to take pictures.
On the last day, we left LV in the morning. We made a stop over at the Seven Magic Mountains on the way back to LA. It is an art piece and I really liked it.

Charlotte had fun doing some jump shots :)

Everyone fell a little ill after this trip. I think we were on the road too much haha. But we all had good fun!

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
