Montenegro

Sounds exotic? hah this is what I hear whenever I tell someone I'm going to Montenegro for a holiday. I guess we would not have thought of going there if we are not in Moscow. The flight from Moscow takes only 3hours and since it is winter now it is low season for tourist. Which means accommodations and flights are cheap! Even though it is winter, the weather was perfect for us! Around 18 degrees in the day. We also found a good deal for a 5 star hotel called Hotel Splendid.

We arrived at Tivat airport, a very small airport which resembles the airport at Bagan, Cambodia.
Thereafter, we took a half an hour car ride to our hotel. The view from our room was so relaxing!
The moment Charlotte saw the pool, she couldn't wait to jump in. Even though it looked super sunny, the waters was still too cold for swimming outdoors or in the beach. Thus we headed to the indoor swimming pool for a dip. Swimming was an everyday affair when we where there :)
As mentioned, we got a pretty good deal for our stay. It included buffet dinner and breakfast throughout our stay. It has been a long while since I ate a buffet spread. Even though I had a kid that refused to sit still, I managed to eat quite a bit everyday hah.
The yummy dessert spread.
Charlotte enjoying her pasta and fish and chips.
The next morning, we woke up bright and early. We were first for breakfast! (Charlotte woke up at 530am... Montenegro is 2 hours behind Moscow which means 730am Moscow time.)
We explored the place by bus. We headed to the old town Kotor. The view was so beautiful everywhere we turned. I think it is hard to take an ugly photo there.

It was a very sunny day that day and miss vain pot couldn't stop trying to put on Daddy's sunglasses.
Still obsessed even when we were taking pictures.
Charlotte had fun running along the pier. But we were so afraid she might jump down any moment as she kept going very close to the waters.

We also visited a small island called Sveti Stefan.

It was beautiful, peaceful and had a huge ass playground! (things I look for these days to entertain the little one) The beach there had rocks instead of sand. Even though the waters were cold, Charlotte had fun playing with the rocks. I just had to mention, the water was crystal clear! Even though it was a small place, we managed to spend half a day chilling there.

Charlotte doing a little trekking.

All of the evenings were spent in the hotel. We decided that we should make use of all the facilities. The hotel we were staying in had a nice children playroom. It kept Charlotte entertained while I went for my massage.

We had a great time during this trip. I think the pace and activities that we did were just right for Charlotte. There was never a dull moment for her yet she was not overly tired out. We timed it quite well such that she sleeps whenever we were on the road. By the end of the day, she was also tired enough to "almost" sleep through the night hahah.

Good Bye Montenegro!

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
