From Frankfurt to New York

Even though I'm perpetually on holiday, I still love a holiday! And I love going for holiday with my hubby coz I know I will be well taken care of hah. I'm a lazy bum~ For our final trip this year, we went from Moscow to Frankfurt and then a 7 days long trip in New York City. Woohoo ~ the US and I can't wait to visit the other parts of US next year. Who says I'm going to the US again? ME!! haha I insist on going back. This explains why I still own a Starbucks card that is loaded with cash. Just kidding! I wish I have checked the value in my card before I left and not leave cash in it. How if I never get to use it?!? No way.. I'll make sure I finish it someday hah. I'll fly all the way to US just to use my Starbucks card.

Our flight from Moscow to Frankfurt was only a short 3.5 hours flight. We stayed there for 2 nights before transiting to New York. The first interesting thing I saw while walking to our hotel.
The highlight for Frankfurt was the Christmas Market. The market was bustling with people and the atmosphere was fantastic! I wished I had more stomach to eat more sausages haha. Derrick couldn't wait to reach the market and had to grab a curry wurst first before continuing our journey there.
He couldn't wait to gobble it up.
We also had coffee a long the way as we saw a super long queue outside a coffee house. As Singaporeans, we immediately joined the queue hah it was good and cheap!
Finally arriving at the Christmas Market.
Christmas tree in front of Römer
Stalls offering all Christmas related things.
A carousel with so many kids in line waiting for their turn.

We were tempted by the mountain of fries.. the smell.. omg... heavenly hah
A supposedly must have... Hot Apple Wine. But I thought the alcohol taste was too strong for me.
Enjoying our wine and fries. Cheers to a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
We ended with a stroll on a windy bridge, catching a glimpse of the Frankfurt skyscrapers at night.
The next day, we visited the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. It has both the bull and and bear there, representing the markets. Unlike Wall Street in New York City, where only the bull stands.

We had a free guided tour and were able to catch a glimpse of the trading floor.

The 2 days were short and sweet... just enough time before we move along to our next destination.

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
