More on Spain (Granada, Barcelona) & Portugal

I'm itching to take leaves to go somewhere else again.. I have more than sufficient leaves but I have my reservations about taking them. People in my co do not like to take leaves. They rather forfeit them at the end of the year! Wierd bunch of ppl...

Over at Granada, we managed to get tickets to Alhambra, the main attraction of Granada. It is a world heritage site. A city, fortress and palace of the kings of the Nasrid Dynasty.

The structure inside and views from various high points.

We also visited the Sacromonte neighbourhoods where they are famous for their caves, in which gypsies celebrate their nights with their flamenco songs and dance :)
On our way up the neighbourhood...

Flamenco Show!

We were also very fortunate to be able to catch the Easter procession at Granada! We didn't expect to be able to do so :) It was such a grand event, everyone at Granada stopped everything to be at the event. It is like a small town where everyone knew each other, all gathered together. I love the atmosphere.

After all the hype in the small town, our last stop in Spain was Barcelona. I like the big vibrant town. A pity we spent too little time over there. Just 1.5 days. The highlight... the famous La Sagrada Familia was on fire when we were there! Fortunately people were evacuated when we were on our way out.

The fire engines outside and there were smoke coming out at the sides of the cathedral.

Before all that happened...

In the interior of the cathedral was breath taking.

Our final stop, Lisbon. The apartment I chose was so romantic! Definitely recommended for couples! It is called Brown's Apartment.

Lisbon is a much quieter and slower place as compared to Spain.

Can you spot the faint rainbow at the back?

Most importantly, we had the famous EGG TARTS! It is FABULOUSLY! Crispy on the outside and soft and creamy in the inside. I'm starting to drool thinking about it.

That's about the end of my 12 days trip. Till the next time...

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
