Happy Birthday to Me!!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! As I grow older, birthday celebrations are also getting quieter. This has been the trend in our group for this year. Gone are those days where we have to club and party all night long on birthdays. Nonetheless, I'm glad the circle of friends remain the same and friendship still last. I love all of you guys and thanks for being there for me and for tolerating me. Muack Muack Muackzzzzzzz!!

Dinner was at Artichoke@Sculptor Square. One of the newly established chill out place. It is where the old Secret Garden was.

Even though we tried to book earlier, we were unable to get a table inside (actually we see many empty reserved table during our dinner time there). It was so dark outside, we could barely see what we were having. Every dish that arrived looked the same with the rockets on top of it.

Basically, I think the food were overrated. They are not cheap too! When asked what was good, the guy told us that everything is fantastic. He mentioned that this is a cafe that actually serve fine dining quality food! hahaha seriously, the only fine dining thing about the food is the small portions served.

Feeling a little unsatisfied, we moved on to Ben and Jerry's @ Dempsey for ice cream.

My cake from Hotel Intercontinental. Thanks peepsssss :)

As for my weekend... It was spent in Batam!! haha This is my first time staying over at Batam for 1 night. And according to elf, I spent it with my "true friends" hahahah. It was an enjoyable experience and I think I really needed it. Thanks for listening to me and I'm seriously glad you guys took the time off... Seriously la!

In the living room of our 2 bedroom suite. We had a free upgrade from Holiday Inn. Cool~

The pool area

Dim Sum lunch at the hotel's Chinese restaurant, Dragon Inn.

Snack time in between at A&W. Check out the pathetic piece of chicken! We were super disappointed! hah

Oh and the massage is even cheaper than Thailand's. But the masseur there uses so much strength, I had to keep asking the person to use less force. After massage, we had seafood dinner at Golden Prawn.

Our night activity was ... drinking! hahah We had nothing but beers and chips

Well for anyone who wants a getaway near Singapore to do nothing at all but chill and talk about anything under the sun, Batam is not a bad choice considering it is quite cheap. The buffet breakfast at Holiday Inn is also pretty good. Surprisingly, there was a rather wide spread. In total, I spent about $160, inclusive of hotel stay, boat ride, taxes, massage and all meals over there.

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
