Happy National Day

Before I start my entry.. WARNING... A serious lack of pics. I forgot my cam!! So sad!! I just had to make do with my phone. But it was still a wonderful national day *grinz*

Happy 42nd Birthday Singapore! The new venue, for this year's parade looks cool. It's a floating stage on water. A pity I couldn't catch it life there. But at least i was near enough hah. I was beside the actual happenings, right along kallang river, looking at the fireworks. Cool....I loveeee fireworks. They're soo pretty!! Thanx der!

So, 1 year really past very very extremely super duper quickly. It only seemed lk yesterday tt Sheryl and I participated in the parade. We were ushers for the VVIP sector! Despite the many complains (one of it was the freaking hot and ugly uniform seen in the pic below), we had our share of fun. The most memorable part... trying to take secret snap shots of the army officers ard hahah woohooo all the hot bods heh. Looking back now, we were glad we were part of it. For the moment when the entire stadium sang the national day songs, we felt so proud to be a Singaporean hah. However, sad to say.. i only felt tt for tt few mins while listening to the songs hahahah But i muz applaud the song writers. Every year's national day song is brillant!

Gosh.. i look so young!
Anyway, national day this year was well.. different heh. First was dinner at botak jones. My first time there.. food's not bad just tt i thought the portion was too large. Followed by fireworks then my favvvv ice cream.. BEN & JERRY'S at Dempsy Road! Dempsy road's cool. It's seriously a great place to chill out. Check out the cool Ben & Jerry's car.

Guess wat's next?!?! BLADING hahahaha yes i think it's my latest new found hobby. I'm at ecp every week heh. i had 2 body guards this time.. one front one back! But elgin is so lousy.. i pull him a bit, he cannot balance.. i'm too fat for him hahah
BUT... I found out Der's damn proooooo! U're so cool! *applaud applaud* I swear u can't judge a book by its cover hahahah. No wonder you offered to teach me the last time. He's so zai!! He was practically blading backwards all the time to keep an eye on me. (Der, i hope ur muscles aren't aching now from dragging me hah) He's so nimble! I din even fall at all ytd night coz everyone was sound activated. A slight squeal from me and all hands were out hahaha. My new shi fu! He's goooooddddd. Impressive! I'm still in awe. I guess having an uncle tt's a ice hockey coach to teach u skating since young does pay off heh.
Anyway, Elgin's words r still ringing in my head. It's freaking hilarious...
Elgin: you muz glideeee.. lk a duck in water... not a lk a duck on land!
Me: trying to laaaaa.... this is only my 3rd time blading can!
*after blading for a while*
Elgin: ok better already... now u muz now become a swan.... glideeee lk a swan... not a duck.. a swannnn.....
Stupid elgin! But i muz say this guy got super lot of funny analogies.

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
