2021

We are officially in 2021. Funny how time actually passes really quickly when we are just staying home and not doing much everyday. With the whole covid situation still going on in LA we did not travel in 2020. We did a couple of road trips but most of the time was spent at home. Our daily routine is to bring the kids out to release all their energy. Let mason take a nap in the afternoon and stay home thereafter.  Fortunately Charlotte goes to school (with a lot of days off due to Covid). It might seems boring but maybe I'm getting quite comfortable with the situation, I don't mind this routine. However I still hope I get to travel more and visit more places since I'm here which is the whole point of being overseas.

Our usual park day almost everyday if the sis is not in school. I love this rainbow t shirt my girl friends got for them.

Some fun things we did was to visit a pumpkin patch. Mason had a blast for his first experience. I personally love pumpkin patches too. It is cool to see so many pumpkins of all different sizes everywhere.

We managed to go trick or treating. Another blast! hah I think Halloween is probably Charlotte's favourite. We went to Little Tokyo on Halloween day as there was a free trick or treating event. It was really fun walking around and getting candies. Unfortunately, we did not get to dress up as a family of 4 again. Mason was an impromptu Superman. We remembered we had a cape and just decided to pin it on his back haha.

Social distancing way of getting our candies.
At the end of the walk, we got to spin a wheel for some prizes and lucky Charlotte won us a food voucher worth $40. We had a good dinner with that $. We ended the night with a walk around our neighbourhood for more candies!
It's been so long since I last blogged, I'm getting tired. Maybe more on the next post. Good night!

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

Cinque Terre

For this Italy trip, we covered the areas we have yet to cover in our previous Europe trip. Also, being in Moscow made flying over cheaper and much faster. There is a direct flight on S7 to Verona and we travelled to the other parts like Florence and Cinque Terre by the trains. The main point of this trip is to visit Cinque Terre as I have heard amazing reviews on the place from my friends. It sure did not disappoint us. We were awe struck upon entering our room. I couldn't stop taking pictures from the balcony even when the guy was telling us about the room. Cinque Terre is located along the coast of the Italian Riviera. Cinque means 5 in Italian. Thus there are 5 villages in Cinque Terre - Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. We chose to stay at Riomaggiore and we loved it! This place is not easily accessible by car so the train is the most convenient mode of transport. Fortunately at Riomaggiore, there is a lift to bring people up to the top. Upon...
