Happy Chinese New Year 2018

Chinese New Year this year is spent here in LA. No Lo Hei and not much of a CNY atmosphere at where we live. Unlike in Moscow where the Singapore community was more closely knitted and we had friends who love to cook!

However, we did made a trip back to Singapore for 3 weeks. We left just before CNY. We could not make it back in time for my brother baby's 1 month celebration but nonetheless Charlotte had fun playing with baby Ava during our time in Singapore. She couldn't stop kissing her the moment she laid eyes on baby Ava.

For this trip back to Singapore, we managed to meet up with a lot of people and had our reunion dinners with all of our family members.

Reunion with friends and Charlotte's god mummies.

The Moscow community also managed to catch up due to Dylan's 21st birthday. I think it was pretty amazing to have everyone coincide and be in Singapore at the same time!
Charlotte managed to catch up with her little cousins and the pictures were simply too cute.

Last but not least, Charlotte's highlight was probably meeting her best friend, Sienna. They grew up together in Moscow and I think that was Charlotte's most memorable part of her life in Moscow - having a friend called Sienna.

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
