Noah's Ark Exhibition

We finally got around visiting the Noah's Ark Exhibition at Skirball Museum. It is definitely a place worth visiting. I wasn't sure at first as it only opens at 12noon on weekdays which is the time Charlotte is about to take her nap. However, it all worked out well in the end. We went for the 2.30pm slot, right after her nap.

In the morning, we brought her to a different sort of indoor playground. A place called A Magic Forest. It was our first time there. Almost everything was made of wood. Not a single toy was battery operated. I know wooden toys are more of an educational toys and are said to be better. But in my case, it was not possible to just have these toys at home. So i guess it was a good experience for Charlotte. For once, she can simply use her imagination and be free to do whatever she wants with wooden blocks and just plain simple toys without any other attention grabbing toys that plays music with a push of a button.

There was also a nice little backyard with some musical instruments.
Charlotte did pretty well that day. We had lunch and she managed to get some sleep in the car while we drove to Skirball Museum. We headed straight for Noah's Ark as we had a limited time span of 90mins. We spent the entire 90 mins there because everything was interactive, kids were able to touch anything and every exhibit.

There was even an area where kids can climb and crawl around, a pretend play area, area to read and so forth. It was practically a kid's heaven. Or at least it would be for me as a kid. Even as an adult, I loved how nicely put together everything was. Most of the exhibits were made out of some sort of recyclable material. Daddy had a hard time trying to crawl through the tunnel to catch up with the little one.

We saw a dance performance inside. It was an artistic modern dance which was too artsy for Charlotte. But I personally enjoyed it.
Charlotte made an earth ball filled with poppy seeds. It is now buried in the soil at our balcony. Hopefully something grows out.
Thereafter, we read some books and there was even story telling time for the kids.
Yeah to another good weekend :)

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...
