Baby Leow goes to Houston

I got another holiday! It was quite a tiring one but nonetheless fun. Traveling with the terror is never easy. I am still puzzled how people can post all the perfect pics of their babies together with their impeccable dressings from all the sponsors. The planning must be a headache.

We wanted a holiday and Houston was one of the cheapest choices available during this period as we could use our free tickets and lodging was not ex. However, we realized the flight was a little too long for the little one. 12 hours of being confined in a small space. Worst of all, we boarded the flight at 9am, not exactly sleep time for her. It wasn't all peace and quiet but we managed. Flight entertainment and snacks helped. Watching Kung Fu Panda ahaha

Charlotte suffered from jet lag on the first day.

Thus we were out looking for breakfast at 6.30am in the morning.
We had pancakes that were larger than our faces.

Houston is all about outlet shopping and I would probably need an extra luggage without the terror. In fact, with the terror around, our 2 luggages were already bursting. I felt quite sorry for the terror while we were shopping as she was constantly strapped to me and had to sleep on the go. It doesn't look very comfortable for her and I think it bores her out. On one of the days, we shopped at the outlet for a good whole 8 hrs!

At least we managed to visit NASA during this trip. We had a tour of the astronaut training center where the terror announced her arrival by screaming like crazy at first. She is too young to understand what is going on but I guess it beats being cooped up inside a mall again.

On the last day, we explored Houston downtown. All set and ready to go early in the morning.
Charlotte's excited face hahaha

There is a free observetory area to view the skyline of Houston at the 60th floor of JP Morgan's building.

We also found a park with a lot of babies playing with water. Charlotte got to interact with one of the youngest babies around. As the baby could walk, she ran away after sometime. Leaving poor charlotte looking at everyone running around haha

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
