Back in Moscow

Another first for Charlotte. Her first flight...

And we survived the plane ride with Charlotte. I was so relived when we landed. Charlotte was pretty good during the entire flight. Initially, we placed her in the bassinet. However the bassinet was too narrow for her liking. She was constantly hitting her face at the side of the bassinet, no matter how we moved her to the centre.

So instead of sleeping on the bassinet, she slept on my lap for almost the whole journey. I felt uncomfortable for her but she was sleeping so soundly.  She only started to make some noise near the end of the ride but I managed to calm her down and latch her upon descending. So all was good in the end.

This flight was also her first time on business class hah. But it is only for landing. It is SIA protocol that children below the age of 6 has to be seated in economy class. The crew was nice enough to move us to business class when we are descending so that we can alight earlier.

Also, something I think most people will not know or at least I didn't. SIA provides diapers and wet wipes upon request. But they only have diapers size M onwards. So parents who run out in future, fret not.. SIA to the rescue hah.

But I rejoiced way too early. The real terror moment came when we arrived home. Not sure if it is the jet lag, or the unfamiliarity of the surroundings. Charlotte kept crying and had to be carried all the time. She cannot be left alone even when she's sleeping. I had to hug her to sleep and the moment my hands moved away from her, she'll start to scream. Both Derrick and myself are so tired from just looking after her. I missed passing her to my parents every evening. Hope she starts to enjoy the little playground we set up for her.

My parents miss her like crazy and would FaceTime her once they are free. They kept asking her if she wants to go home hah. Maybe Charlotte misses them too. They have been carrying her so much back in Singapore and now that she is alone with me, I am sure she can feel the difference. Hope she outgrows this phase soon.

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
