Circus

Have you ever been to a circus? I do not have any recollection of going to a circus when I was young but I heard that there was a circus troop that came to Singapore in the past. Here in Moscow, there can be circus performances everyday. Despite the frequent performances, the tickets can be sold out pretty quickly. Since we had a guest in town, we decided to catch a circus performance together.
We got the 600roubles tickets which I thought was good enough as the space wasn't too big.
Before the performance, the animals were all lined up outside. We saw a wide range of animals.. dogs, cats, monkeys, tigers, fox, etc. but it was a pity that photography was not allowed. Unless we pay, we were not allowed to even snap a pic of the animal. But I managed 2 pics secretly hah.
Photography was also not allowed during the show. We had performances from seals, tigers, leopard and panthers. I was expecting the appearance of more animals though. Apparently different shows have different animals performing. Overall, I enjoyed the performance and I would definitely love to go back again.
Just a lingering thought... Because of the movie Water for Elephant, I am stuck with this stigma that all the performers and animals are wearing a happy facade during the show. Behind the scenes, they are all sad and mistreated. I don't think this is true right?

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
