Early Riser

I am usually an early riser on weekend mornings as I always go for my usual morning runs. Especially now after I signed up for the 42km marathon at the end of the year. However we decided to take a break this Sunday morning and have breakfast instead.

Since der was on night shift, I have decided to break my routine and take a train all the way to Changi Business to meet him for breakfast at 830am. It is wierd how I always dread going there but when I no longer work there, I felt rather refreshed by the idea and I actually enjoyed the train ride.

We made a trip to eggs & berries which is right in the new mall by CPB.
Actually this place is under the Food Junction family. The concept resembles all the cafes I wrote about previously during my trip to Bandung. Not bad.. cosy feel to it.

Our breakfast
Mine came with an extra sausage, pancake and french toast (around $13.50)
Der had the early riser set. Only available before 9am. Pretty good choice for just $9.9
I would say it is a decent breakfast and the price is not exorbitant. I was very disappointed with the smoothie though. Since I ordered a berry smooth, I was expecting it to be a little sour and more appetizing. However it was so milky with no tinge of the sourness of what a berry should resemble at all. I think they should not add any milk to the smoothie. Well but it is just my preference I guess.
Overall, I enjoyed doing something different once in a while on the weekend and I think CBP has become rather cool hah

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
