Arteastiq Tea Lounge

I really wanted to try out this place after walking pass it one day as it looks really beautiful inside. Although it says tea lounge, I've decided to go there for dinner instead to save the hassle of coming over for tea after dinner. There is nothing to rave about the dinner menu but the food was surprising better than expected though it is a little pricy to my standard. However I give them credit for the quirky name they came up for each dish.

We ordered the Drunken Pirates - Pork shank ($23.90)
Rebellious one - Ribeye ($24.90). I like my steak. The meat was done to my liking and it was tasty. The sweet jam sauce complimented the meat as well. However I thought they could serve a better salad rather than plain boiled mix vegetables.
The highlight of the night, tea and desserts! We moved on to the more cosy, sofa setting side of the restaurant and immediately started ordering excitingly hah. Some pics while waiting..

As the name suggests, the tea lived up to its name. Of course, not forgetting every girl's weakness... desserts! Ohhh myy.... the matcha lava cake is to die for! It looked like this before I cut it up. The moment I cut it up....
I had to take a pic of this!! Check out the matcha that flows out. I never had matcha lava before. It is always chocolate. However this green tea is not overpowering and the cake is a little salty. Something like salted caramel. Unlike some really sweet dessert where you can't have too much of it, you will not feel so sick of this. Even the ice cream wasn't just plain vanilla ice cream. There's a faint honey lavender taste to it. I dislike lavender ice cream as I thought the flower smelt is usually too overpowering but this is just nice! A spoonful of the cake with some ice cream... awwwwww......

We ordered the apple cake as well. Although we kinda neglected it after tasting the lava cake. XX thinks this is too sweet but the rest found it fine. There's just a thin layer of sugar on top thus making it sweet. To be fair, it is a nice dessert too :)
For the drinks,  they all come with nice little snacks.
We had hazelnut chocolate (I think)
Longan tea. I love it too! We didn't add the sugar provided as the tea was already sweet and I can taste the tinge of longan. Surprisingly, the logan soaked inside was still sweet too.
This is called a dessert tea coz it comes with ice cream I supposed. Pomelo tea. It's nice too. There was bits of pomelo in the tea. Not sure why they have to serve the same tea in a small glass with ice. Maybe they want to let the customer taste the original tea without the ice cream.
All of us
I would love to come over to try their brunch! The 3 tier thing they serve looked so tempting :)

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO!
