Korea Lodging

Since I'm slacking at home today, I've decided to blog more on the hotels from my Korea trip. I stayed in a couple of rather interesting places and I hope to remember them :) Hopefully it'll come in useful for people who plan to go to Korea as well.

Hostel in Jeju - Green Day.
I thought the exterior looked so pretty! It is a cosy little hostel with a simple interior and very friendly staff. Breakfast is provided and a can of free fruit juice every night for people who stayed in the hostel.

Green Day's pet cat, Cashmere. I love him. He even bowed at me when I arrived! hah A pity I couldn't take a pic of it. I looked forward in playing with him every morning at breakfast.
I have to add another pic. He's cute!

Hotel in Seoul - Hotel Pop
This is a theme hotel and I managed to get the Hello Kitty room hahah
Ok it's only the walls that has Hello Kitty pics on it but you get what you pay for. The real Hello Kitty theme cost a bomb and I doubt I will ever be willing to part with that cash. So I'm already satisfied with this.
*One thing to note about this hotel, is that you can pay per hour. The price varies depending on how long you want to have the room for. A normal 1 day 1 night price will set you back by 150,000 won = SGD $164. However, since I'm always out on the day, i chose to check out every morning and check in again when I'm back to the hotel. So I dragged my luggage out each morning and leave them at the concierge. Some of you might say it is troublesome but well for this little trouble, I only pay 70,000 won for a night stay = SGD $76.

Another of my Hello Kitty encounter is Seoul's Hello Kitty Cafe @ Hongik University area. It wasn't easy to find this place but we made it :)
Hello Kitty was everywhere!! We ate the hello Kitty's head hah

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
