Europe Trip Part 1 - London

I love traveling and I love long holidays. Yipeee~

We arrived at London in the afternoon. Fortunately for us, the location of our hostel was fabulous... Just a 5 mins walk away from King Cross station.

First day at London was basically walking around the area.

On the way to Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace

And we managed to get tickets for Wicked!

The stage for wicked

Day 2 - Sight Seeing. (We followed the Frommer's 1 day guide for all sight seeing in Europe)
As both of us were freezing in the morning, we had to drop by a cafe for a cuppa of hot chocolate.

At St. Paul's Churchyard.

Lisa lovessss flowers. We had to stop and take photos at all places with flowers hah

At St. Paul's Cathedral

And we bought stuff from Marks & Spencer. It is like our Singapore's NTUC. Check out our super huge strawberries and they were so sweeet~

After walking for almost half a day hahah we finally reached the river to start the tour of the city of London.

The Millennium Bridge behind us.

Can you spot London Bridge?? A bit disappointing for me...

And we managed to get 2 bottles of free lipton tea each heh. They were just giving them out on the streets.

I also got my hands on the huge macaroons. I was drooling when I saw it at Dubai airport.

Tower of London

We got to see the bridge being lifted up for ships to pass. Freaking Cool~

Anyway there was some campaign regarding the elephants in Thailand. Thus there were so many elephants all around London. Some of them were so cute. I like this polka dotted one.

We even fumbled into Borough Market heh. So the lesson, walking is the way to go ~

We couldn't resist buying some yummy desserts that were all around us.

Moving on...

Tate Museum

London Eye

Check out the very picturesque landscape behind us.

A Trafalgar square like no other days. The World Cup! The atmosphere was crazy. Everyone was cheering away.

Covent Garden. We reached there about 7pm. But we were too late. Most of the shops were already closing. Despite the very long days in summer, the shops opening hours were not extended.

We ended the day with Leon. Affordable meal recommended by Straits Times.

Check out the cool sign they use for reserved tables.

Day 3 - Shopping!
First stop was Portobello market.

Taking the subway
Portebello market is really huge and you can find all sort of vintage stuff. *Traveling Tip* One should spend at least 1 day there. Half a day is definitely not enough.

Der and his vintage vehicles.

I found pretty cupcakes :) My fav~

I loveeee London shop. Both Lisa and I went crazy at Harrods haha. Everything was too pretty.

Food was definitely not our priority on that day. We just had pizza from a stall along the streets. There were plenty of these stalls. Trust me, the food actually looked good.

Check out all our shopping bags.

It was also a fruitful day as we managed to meet Konrad who flew in all the way from Dublin and Huizhi who happened to be in London for training. :) Thanks Peko for inviting us to your apartment. Even though we didn't managed to watch the match in the end, it was nice meeting up with everyone!

Bye bye London~

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
