Staycation

Coming back to Singapore feels like a holiday to me now and having a staycation made it even more like a holiday. Thanks to my dear friend, we spoilt ourselves with a stay over at Capella for 1 night and an awesome luxurious meal at Fat Cow. It was a spontaneous effort and VIOLA... we managed to grab 2 of our friends over to chill with us in the day.

We chose the room with the garden view. The sofa itself can sleep 2 adults.
Upon checking in, we spent most of the day taking pictures in the room as well as chilling at Bob's Bar. It has been a long time since all 4 of us met up together. We had so much fun that we all agreed that we should make the effort to meet up every time I am in Singapore.

3 of us used to hang out so much back in our SAC days.
We had peacocks as company too as they were eyeing the nuts on the table.

After chilling, we headed over to Fat Cow for dinner. The food was fantastic... but of course it came at a price. Definitely somewhere to indulge only once in a while for me. hah We chose omakase style that means we left the menu up to the chef.
For starters, we had thinly sliced sashimi with truffles (I loveee this), a tomato dish and crab croquette.

Our chef for the day serving us the assorted sashimi.

Just as I was craving for uni, we had raw uni and uni cooked in Sake.
Our main, claypot rice with chunks of beef and an egg on top. We also had a super sinful piece of foie gras to go along.
Ending the meal with grade A4 wagyu Shabu Shabu.
Finally we had dessert - ice cream and mochi.
Thanks Penny for bringing us here and Congrats Poh Yee for tying the knot! Best wishes to you!

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

JetSaver Light Challenge - Penang Trip

A very big Thank You to Jetstar and JetSaver Light! We had an AWESOME trip. Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! Go! team 4!!), inaugural trip to Penang on Jetstar with a budget of SGD60. After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
