Hidden Find No. 2

Yet another hidden find that I am adding to my list and I'm pretty sure not many people have got to know of this place yet. They have only been opened for 2.5 months. I believe it will soon be one of the cool hang outs that will attract many people. Once again, thanks to Der for bringing me there!

Introducing wimbly lu @ Jalan Riang. This cafe is tucked inside an estate which is pretty near Serangoon central. Look carefully at the logo of the cafe. There's the Volkswagen in there too!

Welcoming us when we stepped in was the desserts and chocolate selections

I love the interior. They made use of different kinds of chairs/seats/sofa for different tables. Even though the place is rather small, each corner has a different feel to it. Also, the ceiling is transparent. So we can actually see the sky when we lift our heads.

As we went for brekkie after a run, we decided to go for the wooden chairs instead of wetting the sofas hah

Our breakkie - Grand Slam, which consist of 2 of each items ($15) and with the order of a grand slam, we were able to order any drinks for $2. I read on the board in wimbly lu that they only use organic eggs. They are selling the raw eggs there too for people who wants to buy them.

Pancakes with maple syrup and butter ($5)

One thing about wimbly lu, the food presentation is simple and classy. With the old english style plates used, it reminded me of something I get at home. Though it does not look as fanciful as the popular brunch places, the food sure taste good! Not forgetting, the friendly owner, wimbly really made us felt like I was sitting in my home courtyard, savouring my breakfast. I'm pretty sure I'm going back there again!

The Orange Timber

Today was a pretty chill day, walking around, eating and reading my book! It has been a long time since I walked along Blk 85 market. I think the last time was during my sec sch days, on my way back to my grandma house after sch. Since I had breakfast there with my grandma today, I showed der the old sch cake shop where Cham and I bought a huge cream cake (not those fanciful ones we get these days) and finished it all by ourselves under the void deck! Der and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a slice each :) Strawberry vs blueberry...Only $1.10 each. Those miniture ones that are sold at toast box cost $1.20 and they are only 1/3 the size of this! What a rip off for something nostalgia... Later in the evening, we decided to chill at The Orange Timber @ Tiong Bahru The Orange Timber is a cafe cum art gallery. The plates are bowl used were also meant to be something nostalgia once again... hah However, I use those cutlery at home too. There are like 3 sections to this small cafe...

Not only was it a cultural and stomach full filling trip filled with nothing but one of the very best food :), we also experienced the affable nature of the people in Penang and most importantly, we made many friends to keep :) Below was the itinerary that got us selected. And we're proud to say that we completed everything mentioned and accomplished even more. Wednesday, 1st July  marks JetSaver Light inaugural flight to Penang and also our, team 4's (GO! After the initial briefing and collecting of our SGD60 which we converted to  RM144 , we were all ready and excited to jet off. Checking out the duty free at terminal 1 before boarding . Upon our arrival at Penang, we were warmly welcomed by a group of local performers . A surprising start to the trip. A photo taken together with 2 of the performers outside Penang International...
